Singer Kelly Rowland warned her fans of a fake Instagram account posing as her and Beyoncé and asking for money. On Friday, January 3, 2025, Rowland took to her Instagram stories to write:

"Be careful out here! FAKE AF!! And don't you think I know how to spell P-L-A-N-E!"

She included a screenshot of a private message from an IG account, @iam.kellyrowland, that has been circulating on social media recently. The alleged scammer claimed to be Kelly and requested money for a "plain ticket," as she allegedly lost her credit card. At one point, they even pretended to be Beyoncé.

Last August, Kelly Rowland disclosed she was working on new music

In the screenshot shared by Kelly Rowland, the alleged con artist requested the money so that Kelly could come to their city to perform at a concert. The message read:

"I lost my credit card and I need money for a plain ticket so I can fly to your city to perform. Can you send me some money? I'll bring Beyoncé."

To make it seem like the Halo singer was with them, the scammer pretended to send a greeting as the singer.

It is to be noted that Kelly Rowland is not currently on tour. However, both Beyoncé and Rowland recently headed to Broadway (New York) to support their Destiny's Child teammate Michelle Williams. They attended the opening night of the musical adaptation of Death Becomes Her, starring Williams.

Talking about Kelly and Beyoncé, Williams told People magazine on December 13:

"It was an absolute joy having them there because I know they're fans of the movie. Kelly was just like, 'Wait a minute. How is she going to have the hole in her stomach?' I said, 'You have to come see the show. You got to come see it.'"

Michelle Williams continued:

"Having them there, I felt anchored. We obviously have not been touring together for years, but it took me back to the time when I'd been with them on stage. Even though they weren't on stage with me, I felt so grounded."

During an August 2023 interview with People, Kelly Rowland mentioned that she was working on new music. While she didn't provide further details, she explained it was "feeling really great." The musician last released her full-length album, Talk a Good Game, in June 2013.

Since then, the singer has focused on raising her children, Titan Jewell (born November 2014) and Noah Jon (born January 2021), with her husband, Tim Weatherspoon. Referencing the hiatus, Rowland added it was definitely time for another album.
