Claims of Dr Pepper releasing a Frosted French Vanilla Holiday beverage have gone viral online. This comes after the company announced their collaboration with Del Taco. Despite the rumors circulating across the internet, it is important to note that they are not true.
Facebook user Janelle Fox was one of the first to share claims of Keurig Dr Pepper releasing a “Frosted French Vanilla Holliday” drink. The can boasted a dark green color, a change from their signature red, likely to indicate the arrival of the December holidays. It also showcased vanilla beans, whipped cream, and a flower. The social media post, which was uploaded on December 1, also included the caption:
“Dr. Pepper Frosted French Vanilla is here!! What a flavor!”
The social media post garnered reactions from multiple Facebook users, including 53,000 likes, nearly 18,000 comments, and over 30,000 shares. Rumors of the beverage’s release also made it to X, with one platform user saying:
“So… does this Frosted French Vanilla Dr. Pepper exist or not? Cause I’m about to go look for it and I’m going to be so pissed if I can’t find it.”
However, the claims are not true. The image going viral online has been created using artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the drink company has not officially stated or announced anywhere that they were releasing this edition.
Dr Pepper is not releasing the Frosted French Vanilla drink
As mentioned prior, the image that has been making its rounds online has been created using artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the word “holiday” has been misspelled as "holliday" on the image of the can. Moreover, the US-founded company has neither announced on social media nor released an official statement in regards to the supposed holiday drink.
Hence, it is safe to say that the beverage giant is not releasing a vanilla-flavored holiday drink.
It is important to verify such information through credible sources like established media outlets or the subject of the matter itself, as social media accounts often share disinformation to gain momentary popularity.
Dr Pepper's latest holiday collaborations explored
Meanwhile, the soda company has been making headlines for their collaboration with Del Taco. The organization created a “dirty” version of their fans’ favorite soda. Del Taco announced that they were bringing in the new “Dirty Dels” to their menu. According to the Del Taco website, the latest addition to the menu includes the ingredients: Dr Pepper, a vanilla-flavored milkshake, and a lime.
Food blogger SnachwithZach took to social media to share news of Del Taco’s latest collaboration and called the drink “a little zip zoop sploosh of something fun.”
Although Dr Pepper is not introducing the Frosted French Vanilla Holiday drink, they have collaborated with Sonic to create a new holiday beverage as part of Sonic's new holiday drinks lineup. Starting November 4, Sonic introduced the Sparkling Sugar Cookie Dr Pepper drinks. The drink features Dr Pepper with hints of caramel and sugar cookie, topped with sweet cream. It is important to note that the drink is available for purchase only through Sonic’s app.
