Claims of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Los Angeles mansion burning down amid the ongoing LA wildfires have gone viral on Facebook. This comes after the now-disgraced rapper has been placed behind bars on s*x trafficking and racketeering charges. Despite the rumors regarding the house spreading rapidly, it is worth noting that they are not true.

Facebook user Fuentes Liliana took to the social networking site on January 9, 2025, to share an image of a destroyed mansion, caught in flames and burning down. The caption of the post read:

“P Diddy’s mansion in California has been completely consumed by fire. It should be noted that the house would be under investigation in a couple of days where many names would be involved in the case, unfortunately that will no longer be possible.”

The social media post has amassed multiple reactions, including over 300 comments and nearly 2000 shares.

As many continue to react to the post, it is important to recognize that the aforementioned social media user spread disinformation by sharing the image of a house burning down back in 2014. This can further be verified by The Cincinnati Enquirer's report from January 2014.

Diddy’s L.A. mansion did not burn down amid the wildfires

On conducting a Google reverse image search on the picture attached by the Facebook user, the image dates back to 2014, when a Cincinnati Enquirer photojournalist captured an aerial image of the house burning down.

The Indian Hill mansion was engulfed by large flames that reached a height of up to 30 feet, as per the original report. The cause of the fire remains unknown to date, with the owners of the $4 million home, Jeffrey and Maria Decker, filing a lawsuit against an insurance company for not honoring their claim for $14 million in losses, as per the outlet's September 2017 report.

As per Fox 19 in September 2017, 90 percent of the 22-room mansion had burned down, with nearly 80 firefighters battling the blaze.

As per The Cincinnati Enquirer, Lt. Jim Gilligan, one of the first responders at the burning mansion back in 2014, said regarding the fire:

“It had a good head start. The fire was larger than the water immediately available. It was a defensive attack from the start. At no time did anyone ever enter the structure due to the advanced fire conditions.”

Hence, it is safe to say that Diddy’s mansion did not burn down in reality. Furthermore, The New York Post revealed back in November 2024 that Combs' house boasts 10 bedrooms, much less than the Cincinnati mansion.

Additionally, on January 7, 2025, Newsweek reported that Diddy’s LA home, which is located at 200 South Mapleton Drive, was not in the path of the Palisades fire.

Meanwhile, the rapper's Holmby Hills mansion was reportedly put up for sale for $61,500,000 after it was raided by Homeland Security.

On the other hand, some celebrities who lost their homes to the LA fires, according to The Hollywood Reporter on January 9, include Mandy Moore, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton, Bozoma Saint John, Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, Cary Elwes, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, and Adam Brody, among others.

At the time of writing this article, five fires remain actively burning, including the Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Hurst, and Lidia, as per BBC on January 9. Furthermore, at least 10 fire-related deaths had been reported, with thousands sustaining injuries and having to evacuate their residences.

In other news, Diddy remains behind bars in New York City as he awaits his May 5 trial.
