On Monday, January 6, American politician Nancy Pelosi arrived at Congress with a walker post her hip replacement surgery. This happened around a month after 84-year-old Pelosi fell down a marble staircase during a trip to Luxembourg.

While photos and videos of Pelosi using a walker to walk have been doing the rounds online, another set of videos is also going viral in which Pelosi was seen falling down. The viral video, however, seems to be AI-generated. Several elements in the clip, including strange hand movements and items vanishing, could indicate that it wasn't a real video.

Further, in several other clips of the event, Nancy Pelosi could be seen walking with a walker, but she didn't fall down. Thus, the viral video is clearly untrue, and Pelosi didn't lose balance or tumble.

While many netizens understood that AI tools were used to make the video that received millions of views online, some seemed to believe that it could be a real one. An X user (@ChipOwen6) tweeted:

"This looks legit! Laughed out loud at this one."

Another netizen (@g_moonstone) wrote on the platform:

"Which AI was used? anyone knows?"

As for the congresswoman's presence at the Capitol, on January 2, she shared a post on X, where she announced representing San Francisco in the Congress of the United States.

No specific details about Nancy Pelosi's injuries from the fall in Luxembourg were shared publicly

As aforementioned, the 84-year-old congresswoman sustained injuries when she fell down in Luxembourg during an official engagement, according to reports by CNN dated December 14, 2024. The specifics about the injuries were, however, not revealed.

Three sources even confirmed to CNN that Pelosi had to be taken to the hospital post the incident. Spokesperson Ian Krager then gave a statement in which it was mentioned that Pelosi was getting an evaluation done and was also receiving "excellent treatment." After the fall, the congresswoman was reportedly taken to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

Krager gave insights into the incident and said:

"While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation."

Krager further added that the congresswoman was looking forward to returning to the United States soon. A spokesperson further told the outlet that Pelosi was then working from the hospital while also getting her treatment done.

On Monday, when Nancy Pelosi was seen at the Capitol, she didn't have her signature heels on and instead was wearing a pair of slip-on flats. In a January 3 article by The New York Times, it was reported that she had been wearing her stilettos for decades now, which she let go this time.

The outlet further reported that Pelosi's daughter Alexandra Pelosi revealed in a text that the doctor mentioned that the congresswoman possibly wouldn't have to give up her heels forever.

In November 2024, Nancy Pelosi got re-elected to the US House in California’s 11th Congressional District.
