The American comedian, actor, and writer has loads of tattoos, and it has become part of his public image. However, with him starting to act now, he is removing all his tattoos. In an interview with Variety, published on April 23, he shared the details of the process and how it could take a decade to remove all of his tattoos.

When asked about the reason for removing tattoos, he said:

"And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with tattoos, but mine, when I look at them, I remember a sad person that was very unsure. So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain."

The SNL alum shared that he got these tattoos when he was addicted to drugs, and he felt ugly and needed to cover himself up. However, now, he is a changed man, and he doesn't need a reminder of his past life.

Pete Davidson said:

"It was really just because I wasn’t taking care of myself. I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up."

He continued, "when I look in the mirror, I don’t want the reminder of, ‘Oh yeah, you were a f***ing drug addict. Like, that’s why you have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back.’ They should have meaning. Not just that I was high watching ‘Game of Thrones.’"

In an interview in 2021, Davidson also explained that another reason for removing his tattoos is his acting career. He shared that he enjoys acting but has to come three hours earlier to cover up his tattoos.
