Tina Knowles reflected on losing her beach bungalow in Malibu following the destruction caused by the Palisades wildfire. She revealed on Instagram on Thursday, January 9, that her "sacred happy place" had been burned down in the wildfire that has ravaged Los Angeles since Tuesday, January 7.

Beyoncé's mom shared a video taken from her Malibu beach house on her 71st birthday on January 4, which showed off the oceanview and the pod of dolphins swimming in the blue water. In the caption, she wrote:

"This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!"

Tina Knowles' latest post about losing her Malibu home came after the devastation of the Palisades fire, which started burning on January 7, and has since burned 17,234 acres with 0% containment.

The fast-moving series of fires caused thousands of residents in Southern California to flee their homes.

Tina Knowles further claimed that things "could have been so much worse" for everyone affected by the wildfires without the "dedication of the disaster workers and first responders.

Per NBC News, which publishes live updates on the California wildfires, as of January 9, there are 179,000 residents under evacuation orders, with the official death toll from the fire still unknown.

That said, there has been one confirmed death from the Palisades fire, per NBC, and four people killed in the Eaton fire.

There are at least five fires affecting over 45 square miles, including areas "not known for fires." As for the Palisades fire, NBC reported that it has destroyed 1,000 structures so far and remains "entirely uncontained," making it the "most destructive wildfire in LA history."
