Paris Hilton took to Instagram on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, to inform her followers that she lost her Malibu beach home in the recent Palisades wildfires. The heiress and entrepreneur wrote an emotional post on her official account to share the details of what happened to her house.
Hilton expressed heartbreak at the disaster adding that no one should have to see their homes burning down. She spoke about watching her home ablaze on TV and how the loss was overwhelming and that the devastation was "unimaginable."
"This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London," Paris said in the Instagram post.
A bushfire broke out in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. The fire spiraled out of control due to the high winds (100 mph), and by nightfall, it spread more than 2,900 acres.
Wednesday saw reports of fires in Eaton, Sunset, Hurst, and Woodley localities. The ensuing disaster saw tens of thousands evacuated with over a thousand buildings set ablaze and more under threat. The disaster has claimed five lives.

In her Instagram post, Paris Hilton also expressed gratitude that her family and pets were safe. She added that it was "heartbreaking" to see the devastation and people losing their homes. Hilton noted that her heart ached for those who were "still in harm's way or mourning greater losses," as she called the devastation beyond imagination.
"To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable."
Hilton explained that her team at 11:11 Media was reaching out to non-profits to help support communities impacted by the fires. She also expressed her gratitude to the firefighters and first responders for "risking their lives to protect us," calling them "true heroes."
Paris Hilton continued to urge her followers to support relief organizations like the American Red Cross, LA Food Bank, and the LAFD Wildfire Emergency Fund. She also shared locations of available shelters, including ones that take animals.
Paris Hilton's Malibu home was among several celebrities’ homes that were burned. Cary Elwes, Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal, and James Woods were among those who reported losing their properties.
Moore took to her Instagram to share a video of the Altadena neighborhood in Pasadena. She wrote that she was "in shock and feeling numb" for everything that the people, including her family, had lost. She added that while their "community was broken," they will be "here to rebuild together."
"Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family. Sending love to all affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control," the singer-actor wrote.
Billy Crystal and his wife Janice lost their home of 45 years.
According to AP News, several studios halted shooting for series like Hacks, Ted Lasso, Grey’s Anatomy, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Additionally, the Critics Choice Awards were pushed to January 26, and the NHL, too, postponed the Los Angeles Kings' home game against the Calgary Flames.
The publication also mentioned that firefighting teams from neighboring states of Oregon, Arizona, and New Mexico were deployed to help.
The cause of the Palisades Fire is currently under investigation. Evacuation orders remain active in parts of Malibu and Santa Monica.
