Jamie Foxx started his Netflix special with a dig at Diddy
As Jamie Foxx opened his comedy special, he started by adding that the internet was trying to kill him, referring to the widely popular online speculation that Combs had a role to play in his hospitalization last year. Foxx said:
"The internet was trying to kill me... The internet was saying that Puffy was trying to kill me. I know what you’re thinking… Did he?! Hell no."
The 56-year-old continued:
"I left them parties early. I was out by 9, n***a, something don’t look right, n***a. It looks slippery in here!"
Elsewhere in the Netflix special, Jamie shared the story of what had happened to him last year, bringing to light the unknown facts about his mysterious hospitalization in April 2023, while he was on the sets of a Cameron Diaz-starrer film, Back in Action.
Foxx started by claiming that the illness was still a mystery for everyone. It started as a headache, to manage which the actor asked for an aspirin. However, before he could take the medicine, Jamie Foxx was out cold, and remained that way for the next 20 days, having no memory of it.
Elaborating on what being close to death felt like, the Horrible Bosses actor said:
"Your life doesn’t flash before your face, it was kind of oddly peaceful. I say this all the time, I saw the tunnel, I didn’t see the light."
Taking another dig at the Bad Boys for Life rapper, Foxx continued:
It was hot in that tunnel. I thought, sh*t, have I gone to the wrong place? I looked at the end of the tunnel and I thought I saw the devil saying come on… or was that Puffy?"
Jamie Foxx then clarified that he was only joking. While laughing, he said:
"I’m f**king around, but if that was Puffy he had a flaming bottle of Johnson and… no, I’m just kidding. Come on in here, n***a. No, I’m just kidding.”
The Miami Vice actor also revealed that he was initially given cortisone and sent home, but her sister, Deidra Dixon, had an instinct that something was wrong with him and drove him to Atlanta's Piedmont Hospital.
It was there that they found out Foxx suffered a brain bleed that had caused a stroke, as he mentioned in his Netflix special. It needed an immediate medical intervention to save the 56-year-old's life. After the treatment, it took Foxx a year to recover completely, as per NBC.
Jamie Foxx's digs at Sean "Diddy" Combs come after the rapper and entrepreneur is charged with various assault lawsuits. Combs is currently held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Correctional Center as he awaits his trial, which starts in May 2025.
