The legal drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively takes a new twist as Baldoni reportedly submitted alleged death threats sent by a Blake Lively fan as evidence in court. On January 3, Baldoni's primary attorney, Brian Freedman, told NBC's Today, that they plan to file a counter-lawsuit against Lively after she alleged that Baldoni subjected her to "s*xually inappropriate behavior" while on the set of It Ends With Us.
While Freedman denied that his client or his team launched a smear campaign against Lively, he didn't clarify what their countersuit would allege. Days later, on January 7, Freedman told People that they have evidence of Blake Lively's "pattern" of "bullying," and that they are "releasing all of the evidence."
On Monday, January 13, In Touch Weekly reported an exclusive update on Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively's legal drama. Per the court documents that In Touch Weekly obtained, Baldoni alleged in his lawsuit against The New York Times that his team received two death threats. One of the alleged death threats was reportedly sent to his publicist's email. In Touch quoted the email, which reads:
"I have more knowledge than you do about Hollywood; knowing the dirty secrets of 'many' directors and influential people up to the White House ... because I am clothed in black."
The alleged message continued:
"Some of the directors may know what that means. Before you go attacking good people like Blake Lively be sure of this: There are no secrets those of us clothed in the darkest black of night do now know. Do NOT play with Blake Lively. TIME is OURS ... as is the NIGHT."
Another message mentioned in the suit reportedly reads, "There are guillotines in hell for all of you ..."
Justin Baldoni's lawyer previously said their countersuit will name Blake Lively's husband, among others
Justin Baldoni filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times on December 31, 2024, following Blake Lively's s*xual misconduct complaint and the subsequent lawsuit against him.
His camp has yet to file a countersuit against Lively, but his attorney Brian Freedman, confirmed that one will be filed.
On January 7 on The Megyn Kelly Show, Freedman admitted that Justin Baldoni's camp plans to sue Blake Lively "into oblivion." When the show's host asked him to confirm if they would file a lawsuit against Lively, he replied:
"Into oblivion, Megyn. Wait until you see this lawsuit."
Freedman further confirmed on The Megyn Kelly Show interview that their lawsuit against Blake Lively will name several individuals, including Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds whom Baldoni previously claimed had "aggressively berated" him. Freedman said:
"There's a number of different defendants here. Stephanie Jones will be all over this complaint—she is the PR agent who was supposed to be working for Justin Baldoni. Leslie Sloan, another PR agent, will be part of this lawsuit. And Blake Lively will be sued, and we are carefully considering other people who will be sued, also Ryan Reynolds for sure."
He further accused Reynolds of making fun of Justin Baldoni in his movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
