Kate Beckinsale didn't let criticism from alleged online trolls go unanswered as she clapped back at users who shared their unsolicited opinions about her appearance. In a recent Instagram post, which has since been deleted, per Page Six on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, Beckinsale replied to some body-shaming trolls.
On Tuesday, one netizen wrote, "It's not criticism, but I think you've lost too much weight lately." Beckinsale wrote back, per the outlet, mouthing off to the Instagram user:
"If it's not criticism, it's a passive aggressive completely unnecessary opinion from someone I don't know who knows nothing about my circumstances. So next time you feel like commenting on someone's body, I suggest you keep it to your f**ing self."
The outlet also quoted Kate Beckinsale saying, "Everything is absolutely great f**k off," to a commenter who mentioned that she's "very thin" and inquired whether everything is okay at home.
Another social media user suggested that "getting a little fatter [sic] doesn't hurt," to which the actress replied, per People, "Not all of us want t*tties like yours."
It wasn't the first time the Pearl Harbor actress had a strong response to alleged body-shaming trolls on social media. Kate Beckinsale called out critics and bullies in May 2024 about all the plastic surgery accusations thrown at her.
She shared a video of herself 20 years apart, asking netizens to "please stop now" with their "insidious bullying" and comments about her supposedly getting "unrecognizable surgery."
Kate Beckinsale recently revealed being "gaslit" on movie sets amid fighting off body shamers on social media
Amid her ongoing problems with alleged online bullies targeting her appearance, Kate Beckinsale revealed that she had faced many challenges in movie sets throughout her career as well. The actress aired an Instagram video on December 29, 2024, where she opened up about some of the harrowing experiences she faced throughout her Hollywood career.
Beckinsale mentioned Blake Lively's complaint against his It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, saying that while she doesn't know those people personally or what happened to them, she's "grateful" to Lively for airing out issues women faced in Hollywood.
She then went on to detail some of her experiences on set, including working with a co-star who was intoxicated and couldn't remember lines, which extended their daily production.
When she complained about it, she said she was called a "c**t" and a "b**ch." Kate Beckinsale also mentioned being injured on film set once, which she said an MRI proved, but she didn't get help. She claimed:
"[I] was gaslit and made to feel like I was the problem, blamed and ostracized, left out of cast dinners, not spoken to as soon as I mentioned that there was a problem."
Another instance she mentioned in the Instagram video was about an unnamed publicist who threatened that she would be sued if she didn't continue a photoshoot the day after she allegedly had a miscarriage.
She also expressed her hopes for the younger generation of actresses, that they won't face the same things she did, but that they probably "have it worse" because of social media.
Kate Beckinsale, however, has since deleted the video on her Instagram, but some netizens have recorded and shared it throughout social media platforms.
