"Kim Porter and Brittany Murphy's coroner was the same person"— Internet conspiracy involving Diddy goes viral online 

Among the many conspiracy theories circulating on social media about Diddy since his arrest on September 16, Brittany Murphy’s death is one. On September 30, X user @KillingTimeShow shared a TikTok post by a woman trying to connect Combs to the late actress’ death:

"Brittany Murphy was took [taken] out by Diddy? I have seen this going all around TikTok, and we are about to deep dive [into] this, and all the crazy information that I found that might just connect her passing to Diddy."

Brittany died on December 20, 2009, at the age of 32. Her autopsy report cited pneumonia as the primary cause of death. However, her father, Angelo Bertolotti, argued his daughter was poisoned. In a live conversation with HLN TV on November 19, 2013, he had said:

"I feel she was poisoned. There’s no question about that."

Julia Davis, a family friend of the late actress who was also present during the interview, added:

"From the very beginning, AJ always believed that there was something very odd about Brittany’s passing. And then reviewing autopsy reports we could see that there were multiple symptoms that would usually go with poisoning, and then the test results confirmed that, where the lab found the 10 heavy metals in very high quantities."

Davis continued:

"So, we do believe that it was poisoning. And we would like to have it properly investigated."

The TikTok user then pointed out that, coincidentally the coroner for both Brittany and Kim Porter, Diddy's late partner who died of lobar pneumonia, was Ed Winter:

"The crazy thing is that Kim Porter and Brittany Murphy's coroner was the same person named Ed Winter, who actually passed away before Kim Porter's second autopsy report was finished."

According to online hearsay, celebrity coroner Ed Winter was asked to conduct a reevaluation into the cause of Porter's death. However, he passed away on March 17, 2023, reportedly of natural causes, before he could work on Kim Porter's alleged second autopsy report.

Although the TikTok user compiling this information did not arrive at a concrete conclusion, she supposedly insinuated that Diddy may have had something to do with Brittany Murphy's death.

Viral conspiracy theory links Brittany Murphy's death to Diddy

The TikTok user also mentioned Harley Pasternak, the Canadian personal trainer known to many Hollywood celebrities. The user claimed Brittany's husband, Simon Monjack, had hired Harley to train her. However, Harley alleged that the actress looked under the influence of some substance when she arrived for training.

Another TikTok video shared on X on September 28 stated that Harley Pasternak has close ties with Sean "Diddy" Combs, adding Brittany Murphy's husband owed the trainer some money.

No definite conclusions about Brittany's death and Harley's involvement were reached.

Ashton Kutcher's name was also brought up in the online theory, noting that Brittany dated the actor who was at the time "best friends" with Diddy. The TikTok user claimed:

"It’s been alleged for years that before Brittany Murphy passed away she was getting ready to expose SA that was happening in Hollywood."

Ashton Kutcher co-founded Thorn, a non-profit to help children and women victims of s*xual assault. However, the Killers actor stepped down from the organization's Board of Chair in September 2023 after facing backlash over his letter of support to disgraced actor Danny Masterson.

It is unclear how exactly the people mentioned could be connected to Brittany Murphy's death as implied by the TikTok explanation. However, it should be noted that no official evidence has proved these theories in a court of law.
