Singer SZA recently expressed her desire to collaborate on an album with Kendrick Lamar. While promoting her upcoming movie, One Of Them Days, on the chatshow Sherri on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the songstress was questioned about teaming up with Lamar on a full-length album at some point in the future.

The All The Stars hitmaker and Lamar's former TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) labelmate promptly replied:

"I would love that," before adding, "I think that would be amazing. He’s such a genius. And a part of his genius is like him being so elusive and so mysterious and I love it."

As the singer's comments went viral and fans were quick to react. One commented:

"they haven’t missed once so hell f**king yeah gimme that collab album," one fan wrote.
"Streets need it," another commented.
This will end up happening, I can feel it," a fan stated.

Others commented on different collaborations they wanted to see the two artists doing.

"We need a baby keem and Kendrick collab album, that’s what we need rn," one remarked.
"Bring back collab albums!" another added.
"Actually, we want Isaiah Rashad x SZA collab album first…" a person commented.

"Teach me, sensei, what you know" SZA about working with Kendrick Lamar

SZA, real name Solána Imani Rowe, and Kendrick Lamar have previously worked together on the tracks 30 for 30 from the former's recent album LANA (SOS Delux), Luther and Gloria from Kendrick's GNX, and All the Stars from the Black Panther soundtrack.

In her interview with Sherri, SZA remarked on working with Kendrick. Rowe explained that she didn't know what version of her vocals would appear on the two songs on GNX.

"When 'Luther' came out, I said, 'OK, that's the vocals we’re using, period.' Same with 'Gloria.' I said, 'OK,''' SZA joked.

She explained that she likes working with Lamar as it helps push her creativity out of her comfort zone. She shared that he was a huge part of her "fumbling and finding" her music and said:

"I’m trusting his expertise and being thrust into these moments and spotlight and saying yes. He’s so good at saying yes, but staying grounded. So I’m just like, 'Teach me, sensei, what you know.'"

Last month, SZA and Kendrick Lamar announced their stadium tour across North America, the Grand National Tour. It will kick off in Minneapolis on April 19 and conclude with a show in Washington, D.C., on June 1. Stops include Houston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Toronto.

Rowe is set to star in the buddy comedy One of Them Days along with Keke Palmer. It centers around two best friends struggling to pay the rent after one of their boyfriends spends all their money. The film marks the singer's acting debut. It is set to hit the theaters on January 17, 2025.
