"Loser behavior": The Traitors fans slam Johnny Bananas for his Twitter "meltdown"

The Traitors season 2 aired its first three episodes on Friday, January 12, on Peacock. While most shows on the platform are released around midnight, the reality show aired at 9 pm ET instead.

By the end of the three episodes, several players were either killed or banished. Those who were murdered included MTV legend Johnny Bananas and Marcus Jordan. The banished players were Peppermint and Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing with the Stars.

The MTV legend, who previously expressed his excitement about competing alongside CT Tamburello on the Peacock show, spoke to publications about his elimination. He blasted Dan Gheesling from Big Brother for murdering him on the show, but that wasn't the end of it.

In a series of tweets, Bananas made comments on X that didn't sit well with fans. They also took to the social media platform to slam the now-eliminated cast member. A netizen, @gontaluvsbugs, wrote on X:

"Bananas unironically beefing with Dan on Twitter is such loser behavior I'm so sorry."

Johnny Bananas' comments about The Traitors star Dan Gheesling upset fans

The Traitors season 2 clips have been making the rounds online as the season premiere, consisting of the first three episodes, dropped on Peacock on Friday, January 12, 2024. During the three-part premiere, three traitors were picked by host Alan Cumming, who instantly started strategizing about who to murder.

After much deliberation and discussion, they decided to eliminate someone who they thought would be a threat to them in the future and picked The Challenge veteran Johnny Bananas. The MTV star, who has been on The Challenge for the past two decades, is known for being strategic as well as physically strong. He is also known to be opinionated with little regard for those whom he may offend with his opinions.

After his elimination from The Traitors season 2, he took to social media to blast Dan Gheesling, one of the traitors of the season, for eliminating him. In a series of tweets online, he slammed the cast member.

"Hey @DanGheeseling your mom’s a h*e #TraitorsUS," Johnny tweeted.

Johnny Bananas' behavior upset fans, who condemned the MTV star for his choice of words, calling his online antics "embarrassing."

However, X wasn't the only place where the cast member expressed his disappointment with Dan Gheesling. While in conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Johnny Bananas noted that Dan was threatened by him in general and not just in the game.

Upon being asked why he thinks he was targeted first, Bananas replied:

"There's no doubt that Dan is the one that made the decision. Dan just saw me as not even necessarily a threat to his game, I just think he saw me as a threat in general. "

He added that the traitor made an emotional decision instead of a strategic one. According to Entertainment Weekly, had Dan kept Bananas the latter would have helped divert attention from the traitor in the future.

Season 2 will return next week on Friday, January 18, on Peacock.
