According to snack and beverage insider accounts, including Snackolator and Snack Betch, 7Up is all set to release its new Shirley Temple Soda. A user took to X and wrote:

"YUUUUUUUMMMMMMM !!! I love a Shirley Temple🍒."
"Bringing my childhood back right before Christmas? You better believe I am," wrote another one.
"I'd buy that!" added a tweet.

Some users, however, didn't like that pomegranate was included in the soda recipe. A user wrote on X:

"Just make it the way it’s supposed to be and I would like it. Grenadine, from the bar."
"Not looking forward to the Pomegranate part honestly🍒," tweeted another netizen.
"Pomegranate? Must they change everything?!!" questioned another user on X.

According to internet resources, the flavor will mostly include pomegranate and cherry soda, and the drink will come in a red and pink can in the holiday season.

The outlet further mentioned that according to the images circulated online, the products are packed in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans, as well as two-liter bottles. The 7Up's Shirley Temple Soda will also come in the regular as well as Zero Sugar Variety.

Target and Walmart had already displayed 7Up's Shirley Temple Soda on their respective websites

While potential customers are all excited with the reportedly upcoming launch of the new Shirley Temple Soda by 7Up, they are already put on display on websites of Target as well as Walmart. However, customers couldn't buy it yet since the products are listed as "out of stock" on both sites.

Delish reported that the new flavor could come out as early as the end of October. The claims surfaced on the internet about a month after 7Up shared a video on their official Instagram page, in which they showed the steps to make a refreshing glass of Shirley Temple.

In the video, however, they used the lemon-flavored regular 7Up soda along with grenadine syrup.

According to Food & Wine, the brand was possibly trying to tease its customers about the new flavor for quite some time now, without even them realizing the same.

Another reason for all the excitement amongst buyers is that 7Up sodas had long been used as the base to make Shirley Temple mocktails.

While the well-known drink was named after child actress Shirley Temple, she seemingly had nothing to do with it. It was reportedly first made at the Brown Derby restaurant in Los Angeles.

A Shirley Temple is a mocktail that is ideally made using the following ingredients: lemon-lime soda or ginger ale and a splash of grenadine. The drink usually also has a garnishing with a maraschino cherry. These days, the lemonade or lemon soda is often replaced with orange juice.

The drink can also be used in ice cream floats, pound cakes, or holiday cocktails. Its boozy version is known as Dirty Shirley.

Over the years, several variations of the drink have also been introduced. One of the most popular ones is the Roy Rogers. It is now time to just wait for the launch of this Shirley Temple Soda.
