Sean “Diddy” Combs appeared before Judge Arun Subramanian on December 18 for a hearing of his ongoing federal case. In the wake of this, Law & Crime Network reporter Elizabeth Millner witnessed it from inside the courtroom and shared the latest details of the rapper's appearance with the public.

Trigger warning: This article mentions s*x trafficking. Discretion is advised.

As per Milner, Diddy appeared “astonishingly thinner” and “grayer a little bit” after spending nearly three months behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

“A lot different from the luxury lifestyle that he was living before, but [he] appeared very noticeably thinner, and maybe being locked up in detention is starting to weigh on him,” Elizabeth reported.

The reporter added that Combs’ latest appearance was in sharp contrast to the days ahead of his September 16 arrest, including in the video of him playing hacky sack in Central Park earlier that month.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office representative Emily Johnson declined to share the details of the hearing, as per The Mirror. Combs’ sons Christian and Justin also attended the hearing but maintained a low profile.

According to Elizabeth Millner, Diddy "smiled," "beamed up," and waved at his two sons.

Exploring more about Diddy’s current state

On Wednesday, Diddy had a closed court hearing away from the cameras and public intervention. However, reporter Elizabeth Milner was present and shared her insights on Combs’ current state.

However, her account was different from that of a close source of the Bad Boy Records founder. The insider told Page Six that Diddy was "fit, healthy, and fully focused on his defense."

They also added that the now-disgraced rapper "has been very active, remains in good spirits, and, as always, he was happy to see his children." Reportedly, Combs had been working out regularly as well.

For the unversed, Diddy was arrested in mid-September after a grand jury indictment in New York City and charged with multiple federal felony counts including racketeering conspiracy, s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, among others.

Immediately after his arrest, he was arraigned in a court hearing. Back then, he was denied bail despite pleading not guilty to all charges. While prosecutors argued he was a flight risk, the judge cited the risk of witness tampering.

In the wake of this, he was put in the Metropolitan Detention Center under a “mandatory” suicide watch. As per reports, the rapper was in a state of shock.

While it remains undisclosed how long the suicide watch lasted or whether he was suicidal, on September 29, several outlets including People confirmed he was removed from the same and was allowed to meet his family.

Meanwhile, sources close to Combs told the press that he was “focused and very strong” and was reportedly “concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial.”

However, as per The Independent, the MDC is infamous for its “barbaric living conditions” including fatal stabbing and other violent cases, maggot-infested food, never-ending understaffing, unsanitary conditions, and ill-equipped medical services, among others.

Meanwhile, Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo told reporters that his client had a hard time adjusting to the food, calling it the “roughest part” of his jail time.

So far, he has been denied bail thrice. He is currently awaiting trial on May 5, 2025. If convicted, he is looking up to 15 years to life in federal prison. His next court hearing is slated for March 17, 2025.
