The next episode of MBC's Home Alone will air on March 25
On March 12, the channel MBC announced that the show will be going on a one-week hiatus due to health and safety concerns in light of the ever increasing COVID-19 cases in South Korea.
While the new episode was all set to air as usual on March 18, Home Alone will instead broadcast special highlights, dedicated to some of the show's most popular moments featuring celebrity guests and cast members.
The show's production staff stated that the cancelation is a precautionary measure, and not the result of someone testing positive. One of the members of the crew said,
“We have always done everything we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while filming our show. Amidst the recent surge in the spread [of COVID-19], we decided to cancel the broadcast as a precautionary measure in consideration of the safety of our entire cast and crew.”
They went on to state that the efforts to shoot while adhering to the government mandated guidelines will be redoubled in future shoots. The production team said,
“In our future shoots, we will continue to make efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while strictly adhering to the guidelines of government health authorities. We sincerely hope that COVID-19 will quiet down as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, Home Alone will resume airing as scheduled from March 25 onwards.
