"Never seen one fall like that before"— Internet reacts to videos of Brazilian aircraft falling out of the sky

A Brazilian aircraft crashed in Brazil's São Paulo state on Friday, August 7, killing all 61 people on board, including 57 passengers and the four crew members.

The ATR 72-500 was flying flying from Cascavel, a municipality in Parana, Brazil. Before it reached the destination, which was reportedly the Guarulhos airport located in São Paulo, the twin-engine turboprop came down spiraling in the town of Vinhedo.

The Brazilian aircraft, allegedly spinning as it plummets to the ground was captured in videos, which are now trending on X, horrifying netizens worldwide. Many couldn't believe the scene, with one X user saying that they had never seen such a thing happening before.

"I've never seen one fall like that before. Nightmare," a fan on X commented.

More netizens share their two cents on social media about the horrifying incident of the Brazilian aircraft falling from the sky that was reportedly caught on camera, with many of them unable to believe that it happened in real life.

"Wow. Most people's worst fear unlocked in real time. I wonder if there were any survivors?," an X user wrote.
"This is the stuff of nightmares. I fly, but it terrifies me. People always say, 'But it's so safe!' And I don't feel so bad. Then I see this stuff, and it starts all over again," another commenter wrote.
"Horrendous photo of the plane spinning...almost looks like it had no fumes, no gas, maybe even no engine or pilot!! Never thought a place could fall that way!!," a user on X chimed.

People online also shared their prayers for the victims of the Brazilian aircraft crash and their families on social media.

"This is absolutely horrific. Pray for those people and their families," an X user commented.
"This is extremely sad. Prayers to everyone involved & their family members in this tragic incident. This is another reminder out there is to how short our lives actually are. Make the most of it & be grateful," an X user added.

Brazilian President expressed solidarity with families of victims of crash of Brazilian aircraft

Shortly after the incident, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva made a public appearance and asked the crowd for a moment of silence for the victims of the crash before sharing the news of what happened. He mentioned that there were no survivors from all the passengers and crew aboard, although he failed to mention how the information was obtained.

Elsewhere in his press conference, Lula declared that Brazil will have three days of mourning in honor of all the victims who died in the plane crash.

Meanwhile, VoePass has updated its statement regarding the crash of the Brazilian aircraft, which reads in part:

"The company regrets to inform that all 61 people on board flight 2283 died at the site."

The plane crashed in a residential area, but according to authorities, no one on the ground was injured. Only one residence in a local condominium complex where the plane fell was damaged.
