New stills from the horror thriller, Gyeongseong Creature, were released by Netflix on November 15, 2023. The pictures increased the suspense by showcasing the series' exquisite aesthetic.
The images included scenic design and attire from South Korea in the 1940s. The anticipation of this upcoming new K-drama increased ten-fold after the new stills surfaced on social media. Fans were euphoric to see their favorite South Korean stars in an all-new avatar.
A fan in particular, @snowzeaz, tweeted on X and wrote, "New obsession."
The Netflix original drama Gyeongseong Creature, which stars Park Seo-Joon, Han So-Hee, and Wi Ha-Joon, will be available in two parts. Part 1 is scheduled to debut on December 22, 2023, while the second part will be released in January 2024. The drama's trailer and release date were revealed by Netflix on November 12, 2023, during Geek Week.
Fans excited as Netflix releases new stills of Park Seo-joon & Han So-hee on a quest to find her estranged mother from Gyeongseong Creature
Park Seo-joon—who is famous for his roles in the popular drama Itaewon Class and the movie Dream—can be seen looking intently and anxiously in a room towards Han So-hee in one of the images. Another still showed the Itaewon Class actor unconscious and imprisoned in a room.
In addition to it, Han So-hee is seen traveling to Gyeongseong on a quest to find her estranged mother. During the colonial era, Gyeongseong was the capital as Japan reigned over Korea until the end of World War II. The capital saw transformation over the years as it became today's 'Land of The Morning Calm', Seoul.
Additional stills include Jo Han, Wi Ha-joon, Kim Hae-ook, and Soo-yun which further reveals the picturesque settings of the drama. Fans expressed their excitement on social media and lauded Han So-hee for looking "insanely good" while another fan wrote, "how gorgeous are these stills."
The premise of the show is set in early 1945 when Japan wielded the scepter in Korea. It revolves around two young people who fight for their lives in Gyeongseong, or what is now Seoul, after coming across bizarre creatures that were born out of greed. However, it seems that there could be a threat greater than the creatures themselves.
Rich and well-educated, Jang Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon) is regarded as a trustworthy information source and a proficient individual in the upcoming drama, Gyeongseong Creature.
Jang Tae-sang, a rich pawnshop owner, is portrayed by Park Seo-jun. Han So-hee is set to play the role of professional investigator Yoon Chae-ok. It is during Che-ok's search for her mother that she encounters Tae-sang.
Wi Ha-jun portrays Kwon Jun-taek, Tae-sang's closest buddy, as a soldier. Claudia Kim is going to play the mistress of an affluent family named Maeda. The character of Nawol-daek, Tae-sang's pawnshop butler, is played by Kim Hae-sook. Cho Han-cheul portrays Chae-ok's father, Yoon Joong-won.

The upcoming Netflix drama's main cast is adorned by the best South Korean stars such as Han So-hee who is popular for her roles in Soundtrack and My Name, followed by the Korean heartthrob Park Seo-joon who recently made his Hollywood debut in the MCU movie, The Marvels.
In addition, the upcoming drama will also star Squid Game and Bad and Crazy fame actor Wi Ha-joon. His recently released drama The Worst of Evil (Korean title is 최악의 악) witnessed a worldwide success and is available on Disney Plus.
On top of that, Gyeongseong Creature also has other talented performers including Jo Han-chul from Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Kim Hae-sook from Tomorrow, and Im Chul-soo known for Alchemy of Souls and Vincenzo.
Meanwhile, Gyeongseong Creature will also star the famous Claudia Kim who is popular for her role as Nagini in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. She has also starred in the MCU movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the popular K-drama film Chimera which was released in 2021. This has further increased the excitement of the fans as they are looking forward to the powerful and star-studded Netflix K-drama.
The director of the historical horror Netflix series Gyeongseong Creature, Jung Dong-yoon, has worked previously on the popular workplace sports drama Hot Stove League. The forthcoming drama's script is penned by Kang Eun-kyun, an established screenwriter of popular shows including Where Stars Land, and the popular K-drama Dr Romantic season 1, 2, and 3.
As per the announcement by Netflix, Gyeongseong Creature is scheduled to be premiered worldwide on December 22, 2023.
