Young Thug has been trending for some time after his call to Instagram model Leena Sayed went viral on December 23, 2024. Notably, the rapper was heard requesting Sayed in the prison call to move on from him while he faces his sentence, as per Baller Alert.
Sayed started getting emotional and replied to Thug in the call by saying:
"I don't like anyone… I want you."
Sayed already shares a child with professional boxer Devin Haney.
The call, which happened at the Cobb County Corrections in 2022, went on for around 15 minutes. Furthermore, the call video shows Young Thug wiping his face by moving away from the camera as he seemingly becomes emotional while speaking to Sayed.
According to All Hip Hop, Sayed and Haney reportedly tied the knot last year. The latter has also been a popular face on social media and has been associated with Taz's Angels with her sister Ruby for a long time.
Meanwhile, a glimpse of Young Thug and Leena Sayed's call was shared by DJ Akademiks through Instagram on December 24, 2024, and netizens took to the comments section of the post to react to the same. One of the users wrote:
"Lmaooo not even jail can keep a man from cheating."
The response referred to Young Thug cheating on his current partner Mariah the Scientist.
According to People magazine, the pair began dating in October 2021, which is almost a year before Leena Sayed came to meet Young Thug in prison.
Some users were spotted giving funny reactions to the call video, with one of them saying that he waited for 10 minutes to listen to the phrase "I only want you."
People seemingly criticized the conversation with a user calling it a "boring conversation" along with another describing Sayed's crying as "ridiculous."
Young Thug shares a lineup of tweets in response to the viral call video
The call between Young Thug and Leena Sayed went viral almost two months after the former was released from prison. According to CNN, the 33-year-old entered a guilty plea deal at the time for certain accusations such as firearm possession.
While his call with Sayed started getting a lot of attention on different platforms, the Atlanta, Georgia native shared a few posts through his page on X on Tuesday, December 24.
He claimed in one of them that he and Sayed were having a conversation on something else and continued:
"I don't know y she spoke in loving other people or anything else cause ain giving no f*ck bout no h*es or n*ggas I'm the capital P lol that's my twin and nothing else. Never have never will lol."
Thug posted another tweet on the same day which reads:
"I can have that lil sh*t right now if I wanted it, but she been pushing the p harder the n*ggas lol that's the twin…I got who I want."
Following his release from prison, Thug has not announced any new album until now. His last major project was Business Is Business, which came out in June last year and reached the second spot on the US Billboard 200.
It was also able to secure certain spots in other charts.
