Luigi Mangione, the prime suspect in the murder of Brian Thompson, appeared before federal Judge Gregory Carro's courtroom, on Monday, December 23. The suspect has pleaded not guilty to the state charges in connection to Thompson's killing.

In the courtroom, Luigi Mangione was seen wearing a white shirt with a maroon sweater over it along with a pair of light-colored pants. Photos from the arraignment hearing on Monday had gone viral, in which Mangione could be seen wearing an outfit of a similar shade as that of his lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, and smiling.

The photos and clips have gained traction across the internet, and netizens have flooded social media platforms with their reactions to the same. Here are some popular responses that they posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

"Not a single bad photo exists of this guy," wrote one user on X.

Many netizens took to X to comment on the new pictures and videos.

"Guess we all need that level of confidence," wrote one netizen on X.
"She’s not playing around… We’re in good hands guys," said another netizen, possibly referring to Mangione's lawyer.
"What’s he smiling about though," questioned an X user.

Others pointed out that both the suspect and his lawyer were wearing clothes of similar colors. A user tweeted:

"Not them both wearing the same fit 😭."
"They be matching outfits 😭," added another user.
"The way he is looking he seems to be confident that it will save me," stated a netizen.

For those unaware, the suspect is currently facing federal charges, which means that the state had argued that the shooting was "an act of terrorism," as per reports by CBS News.

Luigi Mangione's lawyer Karen Friedman Agnifilo argued that the justice system was treating him "like a human ping pong ball"

26-year-old Luigi Mangione has been charged with a count of first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism and two counts of second-degree murder. As mentioned before, the state argued that the state treated the shooting as an act of terrorism.

On December 17, during a news conference, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg said:

"This was a frightening, well planned, targeted murder that was intended to cause shock, attention and intimidation."

Bragg further stated how the incident occurred in a crowded and busy place of the city, thus, further threatening the safety of others.

During the latest hearing, defense attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo argued, however, that Luigi Mangione was getting treated "like a human ping pong ball," as reported by USA Today. According to Agnifilo, the state was trying to involve and try her client in several jurisdictions. Agnifilo argued:

"He is a young man, and he is being treated like a human ping pong ball."

She further mentioned that he was being treated like "political fodder." She then expressed concerns about Mangione getting a right of a fair trial. As reported by NBC News, the defense lawyer also criticized law enforcement's decision of presenting Luigi in public while taking him to police stations or courts.

Luigi Mangione, meanwhile, has received support from many who have been concerned about the healthcare system and the high expenses related to it. His next court hearing has been set for February 21, 2025.
