Ali Abulaban was found guilty of the murder of his wife, Ana Abulaban and his friend, Rayburn Cardenas Barron

On September 6, Ali Abulaban was found guilty of two counts of first degree murder of his wife, Ana Abulaban and her friend, Rayburn Candenas Barron. The TikToker shot both victims in October 2021 at the Spire San Diego luxury apartment complex in San Diego.

Abulaban will face two sentences of 25 years each in prison for his crimes. San Diego Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Fraser declared the verdict, saying:

"He's a very selfish person, as I think the jury saw. The bottom line here is, he will die in prison, he will never be a free man. He will take his last breath there."

Abulaban reportedly had a history of domestic violence, and was allegedly kicked out of his San Diego apartment, which he shared with his wife Ana, ahead of the incident. The TikToker admitted to punching and pushing his estranged wife multiple times during his trial in court.

According to the TikToker, he and his wife began having frequent fights about alleged infidelity. In July 2021, his wife reportedly claimed to have slept with one of his friends, per his statements. Abulaban also claimed to have used cocaine to deal with the mental stress, which allegedly made him more violent. He believed his wife was cheating on him with Rayburn Candenas Barron.

Prosecutors claimed in court that after his wife threw Ali Abulaban out of their San Diego apartment, the TikToker allegedly kept a spare key with himself. Abulaban reportedly entered the apartment secretly and installed a listening device in their five-year-old daughter's iPad.

Prosecutors added that on the day of the murder, Ali Abulaban heard his wife talking to another man via the listening device. The TikToker then headed to the apartment and spotted his wife with Barron in their San Diego apartment. Upon discovering them, Abulaban shot Barron three times and Ana once in the forehead.

The TikToker reportedly then confessed to his crimes on call with his mother and also told their five-year-old daughter that he "hurt mommy", per the prosecutors.

In a televised hearing in court, Ali Abulaban said:

"I'm shooting and I can't stop. I just snapped.”

During the trial Ali Abulaban confessed that he committed the murders of his wife and Barron. After some consideration from the jury, he was charged with two instances of first degree murder. He will now serve two 25-year sentences for his actions.
