LE SSERAFIM’s Japanese member Kazuha recently received ample praises and compliments from fans after she responded to a question on her ideal type. At the fansign held on Friday, May 19, a fan asked the 19-year-old singer if she had an ideal type.
Rather than giving a response at one go, the LE SSERAFIM member posed another question to the fan asking if they were asking about her ideal man or a woman. This particular comment filled fans with pride and excitement as they believed that it was an open-minded response.
Considering South Korea continues to be restrictive and sensitive to LGBTQ+ issues, Kazuha’s answer was seen as an extension of her support to the community.
English translation of the Korean netizens’ tweet, via Koreaboo, reads as:
“I asked Kazuha if she has an ideal type, and she asked back, ‘Man? Or woman?’ When I said I wanted to know in general, she replied ‘Someone who has their own opinions?'”
"Kazuha pick me PLEASE": Fans love the LE SSERAFIM idol’s answer to her ideal type at a recent fansign
The topic of LGBTQ+, despite being controversial, is slowly gaining more support in the traditionally conservative South Korean society. From two female contestants wanting to take each other out on a date in a dating reality show to BL actor Kim Ji-woong being selected as a member of ZEROBASEONE, the Korean entertainment industry definitely seems to be opening up.
Most recently, LE SSERAFIM’s fandom loved Kazuha’s interaction at the group’s recent offline fan meeting. While it wasn’t explicit, fans believe that the 19-year-old Japanese member indirectly expressed her opinion about the LGBTQ+ community.
At the fan meeting held on May 19, one fan asked the Japanese singer about her ideal type. The singer responded by asking the fan whether they meant a man or a woman and then replied that she prefers someone who has their own opinions.
Fans began calling Kazuha a “bisexual icon” and “a bisexual queen.” One fan even mentioned that reading the tweet was the best day of their life. Many also quote-retweeted the Korean fan’s tweet and asked the Japanese singer to pick them.
