On January 2, 2025, Millie Bobby Brown stood up to online backlash after facing criticism for sharing a mirror selfie of herself. Fans have since taken to social media to defend the actress.

On December 30, 2024, Millie Bobby Brown took to Instagram to seemingly promote Louis Vuitton's Haruki Murakami collaboration. While showing off the handbag, the 20-year-old actress posed in front of the mirror.

It appears as if followers were not pleased by the picture. As per a report by Daily Jang, the actress received a barrage of criticism for appearing older in age.

In response to the same, the British actress said in an Instagram story that has since disappeared:

“Women grow! Not sorry about it :)”

Her ardent fans have since taken to the internet to defend her, with one netizen saying:

"people still look at her like she’s a kid and it’s extremely weird. she said what needed to be said"

Several others expressed similar reactions and were pleased to see the Enola Holmes actress clap back at haters. Some reactions read:

“Stand on Business then sis,” an X user said.
“Why do people think she went from being a teenage to a 40yo? She looks fine,” another platform user said.
“Periodt, Millie! Grown woman energy,” a netizen said.

Meanwhile, other reactions supporting Millie Bobby Brown read:

“Leave the girl alone,” another internet user said.
“Clock them haters Millie,” a platform user said.
“I’m proud of her,” an X user said.

Netizens also weighed in, saying Millie Bobby Brown's remarks were "empowering."

“Women grow! Not sorry about it is a concise and empowering statement,” a netizen said.
“She’s so real,” another internet user said.

Last month, the actress also took to Instagram to share snippets of her wedding. The actress confirmed with People magazine in May that she secretly got married to Jake Bongiovi, the son of Jon Bon Jovi. Several internet users were similarly displeased to watch the young adult get married.

The British actress made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March 2024, where many believed that the performer had lost her prominent British accent. She subsequently became a victim of backlash, where critics stated that she was trying to sound "more American" as per Hello!.

In response to the same, Millie Bobby Brown in a TikTok stated:

“I’m an actor. I grew up in the public eye. I grew up in America. I come to set and I’m an actor and I adapt, and so I want to mimic other people! I can’t help that when I’m around my fiance, or when I’m with people like Jimmy Fallon who have a very American accent, I wanna replicate it. And now I’m in England, I wanna replicate that! I don’t do it intentally.”

Back in 2022, the actress also addressed trolls who commented on her appearance. She revealed on The Guilty Feminist podcast in April of the same year that she was jarred by the sudden change in people seemingly s*xualizing her as she turned 18 years old. She said:

“But it’s gross and it’s true. I think it’s just a very good representation of what’s going on in the world and how young girls are s*xualized. And so I have been dealing with that, but also have been dealing with that forever.”

Followers now await to see Millie Bobby Brown more active on her social media platforms.
