Netizens have reacted to Los Angeles' Palisades Charter High School getting burned down in the ongoing Palisades fire. The high school hosted an alumni list with multiple A-listers, and it has also been used as a set for several films, including Freaky Friday, Carrie, and Teen Wolf.
The Palisades fire started in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, and has already claimed calamitous damage to life and property. At present, at least six wildfires are burning across Los Angeles, and over 11 have died. As per CNN, officials have said that the death toll won't be clear unless it is safe for investigators to venture into the neighborhoods. Over 100,000 people have already been asked to evacuate, and tens of thousands are under warning.
As per Business Insider, several iconic landmarks like the Los Angeles Palisades Charter High School, the Pasadena synagogue, the Bunny Museum, and the like have burned down due to the ravaging wildfires.
The Palisades Charter High School has a rich history of pop culture. Over the years, it has served as the alma mater for icons like J.J. Abrams, Forest Whitaker, Will.I.Am, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, among others. Many people on social media mourned the loss of the heritage school. Some popular comments on X are as follows:

The devastating Palisades fire flattened entire streets and burned down multi-billion dollars worth of properties in Los Angeles. As per NBC News, the Palisades fire was one of the most destructive among the California wildfires, ruining over 5,000 structures and burning through 20,000 acres of land.
The lavish neighborhood of Palisades was home to several Hollywood celebrities like Anthony Hopkins, Paris Hilton, DJ FaZe Kayson, Billy Crystal, and others. However, all their houses were burned to the ground by the Palisades fire.
Hilton posted a clip of her burning house on Instagram on January 9. The 43-year-old penned her thoughts in the caption, writing:
"Heartbroken beyond words.Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience. This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London."
As per Page Six, Silence of the Lambs star Anthony Hopkins' California mansion worth $6 million was destroyed by the fire. However, Hopkins hasn't provided any public statement on the same as of writing.
Songstress Mandy Moore was another unfortunate victim of the ravaging fire. On her Instagram, Moore shared visuals of her house after the wildfire.
"This is Altadena. Leveled. My sweet home. I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb," she wrote over a video of burning buildings she passed while driving down the road in the northeast Los Angeles neighborhood," she wrote.
Other prominent icons who lost their residences to the Palisades fire include Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Eugene Levy, Cameron Mathison, Anna Faris, Leighton Meester, Miles Teller, John Goodman, Cobie Smulders, and President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, among others.
