President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to release a report on the alleged drone sightings "about one day" across the country in recent times. The 78-year-old promised to divulge more information on the same into his second presidential term.

In November 2024, Donald Trump defeated Democratic supremo Kamala Harris to become the 47th President of the United States. As per a report by The Associated Press, the 78-year-old ended the election with 312 electoral votes, easily surpassing the favorable number of 270. Harris, meanwhile, mustered 226 votes. Trump is scheduled to take over as the President of the United States on January 20, 2025.

Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Thursday, January 9, Trump addressed the reporters, saying:

“I’m going to give you a report on drones about one day into the administration. Because I think it’s ridiculous that they are not telling you about what is going on with the drones.”

Netizens on X have reacted to the President-elect alluding to recent drone sightings in his Mar-a-Lago address. In the comment section, a user asked him to release the infamous Jeffery Epstein list along with the Drone report on Day 1 of his tenure.

For the unversed, Epstein's list refers to the list of about 150 high-profile associates of alleged s*x offender Jeffery Epstein. As per Al Jazeera, the documents reportedly unearthed s*xual allegations against Prince Andrew, while mentioning names like Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.

The documents were filed as part of a 2015 defamation lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's alleged co-conspirator. According to the same media outlet, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022, while Epstein committed suicide in 2019.

Coming back to Donald Trump's recent remark on drones, a user commented:

"Release the Epstein List day 1 too."
"What happened to releasing 9/12 and the Epstein files in day 1. I'll put 500 bucks they blame the Democrats for not being able to release them. Or some bullsh*t why they can't. Any takers," a person wrote on X.

"This information could be released at any time. Why is Trump the one that releases it? What else are they hiding from us? You know, for our own safety and stuff," asked another on X.
"I hope we actually get this and we get answers," wrote another.

One netizen wrote about his expectations from Donald Trump's first day in office as the President:

"Between the 100 executive orders and the reports being released and the wailing with anguish leftist clown hair beasts, Day 1 of the new Trump Administration is going to be so kino I don't think I can handle it," a person wrote.
"He really needs to stop releasing what all he’s doing before he gets in office… dems are so dirty they’ll destroy everything so he can’t release it," opined another.
"Since it's a matter of National security shouldn't they have to brief you on it prior to taking office?" one user added.

Some netizens joked about the drones being orbs or an experiment by 'nerds.'

"A group of nerds are pranking the public to get a thrill. I just told you. You’re welcome America," a netizen quipped.
"That's not drones. Drones can't do the things they do. They are orbs," inferred another user on X.

According to Newsweek, in November, the reports of unexplained drone sightings over New Jersey skyrocketed. This resulted in the Federal Aviation Administration issuing temporary flight restrictions in over 50 towns in the state.

Donald Trump hosted a dinner meeting with other Republican governors at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Thursday evening. When a reporter asked about the mysterious drone sightings in recent times, Trump also claimed that the Biden-Harris administration doesn't want to talk about the sightings.

"They don't want to talk about it, and nobody knows why they don't want to talk about it. That could be us sending drones—I hope that's the case. Us doing it and doing research. Maybe they don't want to talk about it from that standpoint. I hope it's not an enemy," he said.

The 78-year-old further stressed the fact that the American people will know more about the drone sightings on his very first day as the President.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, meanwhile, talked about the military repercussions of anonymous drone surveillance.

"We are home to the largest naval base in the world, Quantico, and we house a lot of the SEAL teams and have a huge national security infrastructure. And now, for two years running, we have had drone incursions over secure airspace, and we still don't know why. I think that's absolutely unacceptable," claimed the Virginia Governor.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry explained that they had contacted the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), asking them to give the states the ability to neutralize the drones. However, their efforts failed to have any effect. Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon also shared his disappointment over the lack of publicly accessible information about those unmanned aircrafts.

In December 2024, Donald Trump claimed that the government knew more about the mysterious drone sightings in the Northeast than they were revealing. The President-elect demanded for them to be shot down in case the government officials refrained from letting the public know the reality.

He took to Truth Social, a social media platform founded by Trump's company, and wrote:

“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so!”

Trump added:

“Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!” he demanded.

As reported by Newsweek, days after Donald Trump's post, DHS, FBI, FAA, and the Defense Department released a joint statement. They claimed that the drone sightings include a "combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as drones"

The statement stressed that nothing unusual had been identified and the drones didn't pose any safety concerns.
