Since its successful debut in February, the boy-love (BL) drama Semantic Error has been climbing the viewership charts as fans across the globe loved the fresh pairing of DONGKIZ’s Jae-chan and former KNK member Park Seoham. While both actors have been praised for their respective roles in the series, Jae-chan has confessed that his time working on the series was amazing thanks to Seoham.
Jae-chan isn’t really sad that Seoham has enlisted in the military
In a recent interview with Sports Kyunghyang, the K-pop star addressed the news that Park Seoham enlisted in the military. He first thanked his “senior in the music industry as well as a senior in life” for taking care of him on the set of the show.
As for the chances of Seoham's decision disrupting his career after the show’s major success, Jae-chan is sure that that his co-star will continue to do “really well.” He said,
“A lot of people around me are sad that Seoham is enlisting in the military, but I’m not really sad! Even after being discharged from the military, I know that he is someone who will do really well, so I just hope he will stay healthy and come back after having an enjoyable time.”
Semantic Error stars' relationship on and off screen
The recently concluded series sees Jae-chan as Chu Sang-woo, a top student in computer science who has neither the time nor skills to socialize, let alone explore a potential romance. But all this changes when he meets the popular senior Jang Jae Young, played by Seoham, a design student.
Like their senior-junior status in the series, Jae-chan and Seoham share a similar dynamic in real life too.
Jae-chan shared,
“Actually, Seoham and I always said, ‘Our relationship is really fascinating,’ while filming Semantic Error, and I think the fact that we are senior and junior [in the K-pop industry] and that we met when we were both promoting as idols is really refreshing for viewers."
During the chat, he also revealed that playing Sang-woo in Semantic Error not only brought him fame but also amped up his confidence. He highlighted that Sang-woo is a "character of a lifetime" for him as it gave him more confidence for the projects he picks up in the future.
