During the ABC Presidential Debate on Tuesday (September 10) night, Kamala Harris faced off with her Republican opponent Donald Trump. It began with a seemingly awkward handshake followed by an intense verbal match.

While the Democratic presidential candidate threw shots at the former President accusing him of trying to overturn the 2020 election results, as well as disfavor abortion rights and race issues, Donald Trump hit back talking about Biden-Harris’ “failure” to improve the economy and deal with the immigrant crisis.

The video of the debate has now garnered severe traction online. However, a 6-second clip of Kamala Harris nearly cussing her opponent has now gone viral. Midway through one of her speeches, the current Vice President was heard addressing Trump.

"And this mo- former president, as President, invited that."

While it remains unclear what exactly Harris was talking about, netizens believe she was about to cuss Trump, seemingly using the “mf” expletive but stopped herself short at the right moment.

In the wake of this now-viral clip, the internet is having hilarious reactions. For instance, Instagram user @oriantheartist commented on The Shade Room’s post sharing the same by joking that Kamala nearly forgot that she was at a presidential debate with her country and the rest of the world watching while addressing Trump.

“She almost forgot where she was at,” the user wrote.

Several others joined the conversation and shared similar wild reactions, at times using GIFs for effect.

“I was fully prepared for her to drop the MF on live TV,” a person wrote.
“She wanted to say the mf slur so bad,” wrote another.
“Oh, she tapped into her strongest nerve to not call him a motherf*cker,” one person wrote.

Others pointed out how the “greatest moment in debate history” almost happened until it didn’t.

“We almost had the greatest moment in debate history forshoo,” a netizen wrote.
“Wow, the intensity in that moment was palpable! It’s clear there are strong feelings about this debate,” another netizen wrote.

Some lauded Kamala Harris for her self-control on the big stage, while others argued she should have said it “out loud.”

“She was like Lord have mercy on my tongue,” an individual wrote.
“She should have said it out loud,” one user wrote.
“She swallowed the m-word!” wrote another.

So far, neither Harris nor her campaign has commented on the matter.

Kamala Harris previously used profanity on stage and apologized for it

In May 2024, months before she was confirmed as the Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris attended the annual Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies Legislative Leadership Summit. During her conversation with comedian and moderator Jimmy O. Yang, she was asked what it meant to be the first female Vice President of Asian ancestry and how it influenced her political views.

In response, Harris went on record to say:

“We have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open. Sometimes they won’t, and then you need to kick that f*cking door down.”

However, immediately after her remark, she stated, “Excuse my language” while she earned the audience’s applause at the summit. Later, when the video went viral, it received mixed responses.

Meanwhile, last month, another video of Kamala Harris surfaced online where she was asked what her favorite cuss word was, during an interview with NowThis Impact. She responded with a chuckle and said she couldn’t say it out loud but gave hints that the word started with an “m” and ended with “ah,” adding, “not ‘er.’”
