On October 16, a video of actor Nicholas Chavez seemingly kissing his co-star Chloe Sevigny at the premiere of their latest show, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, surfaced online. The moment raised eyebrows as the duo played on-screen mother and son.
First uploaded by TikToker @brunamercante, the video soon circulated across social media platforms. The clip seemingly showed Nicholas Chavez, Chloe Sevigny, and their co-stars Javier Bardem and Cooper Koch sitting on a couch, smiling and posing for the cameras. However, as they began rolling, Chavez and Sevigny leaned towards each other with his arm around her, locked eyes, and kissed multiple times.
Meanwhile, Bardem and Koch chuckled at their co-stars' antics. The short video has now garnered severe traction online, earning diverse reactions from netizens.
While some pointed out that both Nicholas Chavez and Chloe Sevigny are in relationships with other people, others noted that his girlfriend, Victoria Abbott, was present at the same event. Some even found the kiss awkward, as there was more than two decades of age gap between Sevigny, 49, and Chavez, 25, who played mother and son on-screen.
For instance, Reddit user @Comfortable-Load-904 commented on the video posted by @SafeBodybuilder7191 on the @r/popcultrechat community page, writing:
“She also played his mother on the show and there is a significant age gap between the two.”
Several others joined the conversation on the platform and shared similar reactions.
Others on the social media platform X shared some wild reactions.
“He loves him some Chloë apparently,” a netizen wrote.
“Oh hell NO,” another netizen wrote.
“That moment when I don't know if I want to be Chloe Sevigny or Nicholas Chavez,” a fan wrote.
“Me liking EVERY single video post of Nicholas Chavez and Chloe Sevigny kissing,” wrote another.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story was released on Netflix in September 2024. It is the second season of the biographical crime drama anthology Monsters, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. The story revolves around real-life brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez (played by Nicholas Chavez and Cooper Koch, respectively) who killed their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez (Javier Bardem and Chloe Sevigny, respectively), in 1989.
Nicholas Chavez and Chloe Sevigny are both in relationships with different individuals
Chloe Sevigny is married to art gallerist Sinisa Mackovic, who hails from Zagreb, Croatia. The couple met through a mutual friend named Lizzi Bougatsos at a Japanese restaurant in New York City. After dating for a while, they tied the knot in March 2020 in an intimate ceremony. Together they share a son named Vanja, born in May 2020.
In 2022, the pair married for the second time. They frequently appear at red carpet events and feature on each other’s social media. Mackovic is currently the director of Karma Art Gallery, NYC.
Meanwhile, Nicholas Chavez is dating actress Victoria Abbott. He met Victoria on the sets of their FX horror series Grotesquerie, released last month. While it remains unclear when exactly they began their relationship, they have been making public appearances together and sharing moments on each other’s socials since March 2024.
Victoria has an identical twin, Madison, and together they acted in the 2022 series Echoes. The Abbott sisters were born and raised in Nebraska before moving to Los Angeles.
