American comedian and actor John Mulaney recently appeared on the talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday, August 12. While he talked about several topics on the show, the highlight was when he confirmed his "secret" marriage with X-Men-Apocalypse actress Olivia Munn.
The couple was rumored to have tied the knot in July in an intimate ceremony at a friend's house in New York. When asked about his "in-laws" on the show, John expressed his joy by saying:
"This is the single greatest time in my life. Marrying into a large Vietnamese family is one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. … They’re the best, man"

According to Page Six, Mulaney's intimate wedding with Olivia was attended only by their 2-year-old son, Malcolm, and a witness. John Mulaney recently brought his mother-in-law, Ms. Kim, to the Late Night with Seth Meyers show, where he talked about his marriage while she watched from the audience.
"Ms. Kim is here with me tonight. I’m so happy she came, one of them will come with you anywhere. … They’re the greatest," John commented.
He also talked about the family's Vietnamese roots in Oklahoma on the talk show. He stated:
"It's the most new world. And also, they're Vietnamese, but they're Oklahoma Vietnamese, which is an extremely specific group."
American comic and actress Olivia Munn started dating Mulaney back in 2021 after he filed for divorce from his first wife Anna Marie Tendler. The couple welcomed their son, Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney, on 21 November 2024, who was named after his great uncle.
The Big Mouth star and The Predator actress' secret wedding came after Munn persevered through a serious battle with breast cancer, for which she had to undergo a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy.
Despite rumors about Mulaney cheating on Tendler, he has maintained that his relationship with Munn began after his separation from his former wife. While Tendler has expressed heartbreak and rage over the end of their marriage, she did not address Mulaney in her recent memoir.
Since the news of John and Olivia's marriage became public, fans and followers have taken to social media to express both surprise and joy at the new-found information. Despite the fact that the couple managed to remain rather discreet from the public, his statements on the late-night show served as obvious confirmation of their love affair, thus stimulating public interest in their private lives.
People are looking forward to seeing more glimpses of their love story, especially now that John is back in front of the camera with his material, and with more snippets of what married life with a child entails.
John Mulaney will be coming out with a new comedy special that is set to premiere later this year, where he is expected to share more about his life experiences, including his new marriage and fatherhood. Future performances from Mulaney will likely give his audience a raw and comedy-filled outlook on these significant life transitions.
Currently, Mulaney is touring with his comedy sets in John Mulaney in Concert. He is also voicing his character, Andrew Glouberman, in Big Mouth for the remainder of the year.
