Fake claims of Hailey Welch being fired from her job for Hawk Tuah trend go viral

Tippah County Tribute took to their official Facebook account recently to claim that the young teacher, who is reportedly 23 years old, was forced to resign after she went viral on the internet. However, it was confirmed that the news was untrue, since the Facebook page is categorized as "Satire/Parody".

The page claimed that Epstein Day School Director Carla Reed released a statement stating that students were “spitting on each other” after hearing Welch say “spit on that thang.” The school also reportedly stated:

“They really look up to her as a role model and imitate the things that she does. We love Hailey but unfortunately, we cannot allow this type of behavior from one of our very own faculty members.”

The Tribute also stated that Hailey Welch released her own official statement after the school had to claim that she thought her forced resignation was “not fair” and that she would be starting a fundraiser to hire legal aid.

The social media post went viral online. However, if one looks at the Tippah County Tribute’s official website, their About section claims that they publish satirical content, terming themselves as "Tippah County's #1 Publication for Satirical Laughs". This proves that claims of her being fired are false.
