"Someone is going to make this an album cover"- Internet reacts to a video of the Sunset Fire seen burning behind the Capitol Records building

After the Palisades fire, another blaze called the Sunset Fire broke out on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, dated January 9, the new blaze even has endangered the iconic Hollywood Bowl. The fire reportedly broke out at Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills at around 5:30 pm local time.

Helicopters were present, dropping water to extinguish the fire, along with ground crews. Meanwhile, a clip of the Capitol Records amid the Sunset fire has been going viral.

Netizens noticed the video and didn't hold back their reactions. While some thought it might be used as an album cover, some described it as a scene from a movie. Here are some popular responses found on X. A user tweeted:

Several netizens expressed concerns about the Capitol Records building. Many wondered if the building was okay and safe from the fire. A user tweeted:

"The Capitol Records office is such an iconic building. Do you think it was affected by the fire?"
"Such an iconic building, hope it’s safe from the flames🙏," added a tweet.
"Can you believe it? It's going to burn until the end and then be over," mentioned another user.

The aforementioned Fire was further close to several other tourist destinations, including The Comedy Store, the TCL Chinese Theatre, the El Capitan Theatre, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, to name a few. Many of them announced their closure on social media due to the blaze.


Evacuation orders were received after the Sunset Fire

After the Sunset Fire broke out on Wednesday, the Hollywood Bowl mentioned that they had received evacuation orders. They shared a tweet on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in which they thanked the firefighters and responders working to deal with the LA fires.

Los Angeles Fire Department further shared an update on X about the blaze. In the tweet, dated January 9, 2025, the department revealed that "majority of the Evacuation Zone for the Sunset Fire is LIFTED with the EXCEPTION of the area North of Franklin Ave from Camino Palmero St (East border) to N Sierra Bonita Ave. (West border)."

Evacuation orders have been put up previously for several areas. On Thursday, KTLA reported that according to LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart, the Sunset Fire could be managed and restricted. A firefighter told The Los Angeles Times that the houses in the area did not sustain much damage due to the blaze.

Along with the Sunset Fire, another blaze called the Sunswept Fire broke out at 8.52 pm local time at a Studio City home, eventually spreading to surrounding bushes and residences. The LAFD, however, managed to restrict the fire from spreading.
