Taylor Swift’s merchandise came under fire recently

In the midst of new merchandise collections being dropped, the Swifties took to social media to opine that some of the products were overpriced. Her 8 oz candle, priced at $50 and branded with The Tortured Poets Department sticker, was one of the items that was heavily discussed online due to its hefty price tag.

Taylor Swift's Midnights blanket, which was priced at $75, also came under fire online for its price.

However, it is worth noting that the prices of the merchandise do not come as a surprise, as it is not out of the ordinary for celebrities to scale up the pricing of their merchandise. Beyoncé's hair care brand, Cécred, also sold a candle that retailed for $60, with Kacey Musgraves and Boy Smell are selling their Slow Burn candle at $56.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Burlington, Ontario, fans were scammed out of Eras Tour tickets. Many were collectively duped of $300,000 after a scammer, posing as a ticket reseller, bought the “corporate tickets.”

The Halton Regional Police have since announced that they are investigating the scam.
