Tesla founder Elon Musk joined Republican candidate Donald Trump for an election night party at the latter's Mar-a-Lago mansion after polls closed and votes are being counted on November 5. The tech billionaire, actively advocating for Trump in the 2024 presidential election, uploaded a picture of him in conversation with the former president at the dinner.
The picture, which also showed the CNN telecast of the ongoing vote count, was captioned:
"The future is gonna be so [fire emoji]."
The post received over 18.2 million views at the time of writing this article. Many netizens applauded Elon Musk and Trump for their association, with one person posting a parody poster of Trump, Musk, and other famous Republicans as DC Comics' Justice League with the caption:
"Team Trump, assemble."
Several people also thanked Elon Musk for buying X and allegedly saving freedom of speech.

Elon Musk accompanied Trump to several rallies
Elon Musk is considered one of Donald Trump's wealthiest donors and supporters. According to Wired, the SpaceX founder reportedly donated over $118 million to Trump's campaign and also accompanied him to several rallies, including his Madison Square Garden rally. On election day, he posted that he had voted in Cameron County, Texas.
Elon Musk actively campaigned for Trump on social media. The tech billionaire has been accused of using X to promote posts favoring Trump and the Republican party. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the algorithm is allegedly pushing political content, specifically pro-Trump posts, to new X users.
On November 4, Elon Musk joined podcaster Joe Rogan, who also supported Trump, for a discussion about the election. During the two-and-a-half-hour discussion, Musk spoke about why he viewed this election as important, saying:
“I view this election as a fork in the road of destiny. The reason I have been politically active this election is because if we don't elect Trump we will lose Democracy in this country and the two party system."
The votes are still being counted at the time of writing this article. According to Associated Press, Trump is leading with 267 electoral votes. Either candidate requires a minimum of 270 electoral votes to win. The former president took the majority votes in North Carolina and Georgia.
According to CNN, votes are still being counted in other battleground states including Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin. Following the news of his lead, Trump addressed his supporters in the early hours of November 6, promising to bring in a “golden age of America.”
