On Tuesday, October 24, SEVENTEEN's Mingyu went live on Weverse to spend some time with his fans and also talk about the group's latest comeback, Seventeenth Heaven. The group recently rolled out its eleventh mini-album, which holds eight songs with God of Music as its title track. As he discussed fans' reactions to the title track's music video, fans expressed that they were unhappy and upset with the idol's lack of screen time and parts in the song.
When the idol read these messages of concern from the fans, he immediately responded that he was in fact satisfied with the result and wasn't necessarily upset about his alleged lack of parts in God of Music.
But that’s not important to be honest.
Additionally, he also added that since there are thirteen members in the group, not everyone can get equal distribution in a song and it often rotates within their discography.
Fans praise SEVENTEEN's Mingyu for his wise and mature response as fans raise questions about the idol's alleged lack of presence in God of Music
On October 23, SEVENTEEN rolled out its latest mini-album, Seventeenth Heaven, and its title track, God of Music, was well-received and much talked about given its refreshing and energetic concept. However, as fans discussed the song and its music video, they noticed the alleged lack of screen time and lines for Mingyu in the song, which fans were unhappy and upset about.
When the idol went live on Weverse the very next day, fans took the opportunity to address it to him. Naturally, several comments raised questions about how the idol felt about his lack of parts in the song, God of Music, and if he was upset about the same. However, Mingyu's response settled much of the fans' concerns and debates about the part distribution
Here's what SEVENTEEN's Mingyu replied to the fans' questions:
It’s my first time seeing this question from carats, ‘Aren’t you upset that you don’t have many parts in the ‘God of Music’ music video?’ No, never, never. I’m satisfied. Because there are thirteen members, there are certain albums and certain songs where I get more parts or other members get more parts. But that’s not important, to be honest. We match well when we perform, so we just have to do our parts well.
Following Mingyu's confession, fans praised the idol for his wise response and were much settled about the situation. Given that line distribution in K-pop groups has been one of the most-discussed topics with every comeback, fans felt that his response answered much of the discourse's answers. Additionally, fans took this opportunity to appreciate the personality and character of not just Mingyu but also SEVENTEEN, in general.
Fans and other netizens were able to understand that SEVENTEEN primarily concentrates on their identity as a group rather than individuals. As the idol yet again bags fans' hearts with his selfless and mature personality, netizens continue to praise him while simultaneously showering much love and support on SEVENTEEN's latest comeback, Seventeenth Heaven.
