On October 28, Nickelodeon announced the results of its 2024 Kids Pick The President event, where kids in the U.S. chose Kamala Harris as the new President with 52% of the votes, while Donald Trump received 48%. The voting, open from October 3 to 23, attracted over 32,000 participants.

Although Nickelodeon stated the event is informal and doesn’t affect the actual election, it has historically predicted the winner accurately every year since 1988, except for 2004 and 2016.

Netizens on social media were quick to comment on Nickelodeon's 2024 Kids Pick The President results. While some celebrated Kamala Harris' win others found the 48% who voted for Trump concerning. Some popular comments on X are as follows:

"The other 48% is concerning," wrote a fan on X.
"Now I need to talk to the parents of the 48% cause wth…" agreed another.
"so that other 48% of kids are stupid," declared one user.

Many raved about the kids who chose Kamala Harris over Donald Trump,

"Not kids being smarter than some adults," commented a netizen.
"IDK I think their votes should count since they’re the future," pointed another.
"So there's 48% of parents out there indoctrinating their children with racism and hatred. Our kids are going to have to deal with these people in the future," announced one user on X.

Some other reactions were as follows:

"Since when can kids vote," asked a fan on X.
"Lmaoo the kids want a president who doesn’t touch kids," opined one fan.

In addition to Kids Pick The President, Nickelodeon also partnered with The National Association of Media Literacy Educators to develop a guide for parents focussing on a child's media literacy.

On October 23, 2024, Kamala Harris provided an insight into her future administrative policies if she is elected as the next President of the United States. The Democrat supremo compared her policies against those of Joe Biden in the interview with Hallie Jackson from NBC News at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.

Interviewer Hallie Jackson started the discussion by asking Kamala Harris about the new NBC polls that showed people were not happy with Joe Biden's administrative policies. She was also asked whether her stint as the Vice President would be an obstacle in her Presidential race.

She was quick to point out that her policies would be different from that of President Biden.

"First of all, let me be very clear, mine will not be a continuation of the Biden administration. I bring my own experiences, my own ideas to it, and it has informed a number of my areas of focus, most of which are on to your point, lowering costs. I have been traveling the country. I am very clear; the cost of groceries is still too high. The voters know it, I know it,' Kamala Harris explained.

Harris further talked about her economic plan, revealing that Nobel laureates at Goldman Sachs compared her plans against those of Donald Trump. They concluded that hers would strengthen the country's economy while Donald Trump's policy would weaken it.

Kamala Harris also explained that she wants to reduce the cost of housing and groceries. The Democrat candidate highlighted how she would use methods like price gouging and working with the private sector to bring down the costs of these essential commodities to make life easier for the middle class.
