Luigi Mangione, the alleged killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has currently been held at SCI Huntingdon, a correctional facility close to Altoona, Pennsylvania. Recently, his prison menu went viral and drew the attention of many people as it had one unusual item, porcupine meatballs.

According to The Mirror’s December 11 report, he is currently spending his jail time and eating dishes like porcupine meatballs cooked with ground pork and rice in a sour tomato sauce, pasta bean casserole, and mac and cheese.

Now, once the prison menu went viral, it sparked curiosity among the netizens. They took to X user @CoffindafferFBI’s post on December 12 and expressed their opinion about the entire thing. One even said that it could have been worse.

“The menu could be a lot worse. It's not all that bad. I'm glad they clarified what "porcupine meatballs" are. LOL,” wrote one user.

Others also said similar things with one user commenting that it's better than other prisons. One netizen even referred to Diddy’s prison time and wondered what he had been eating.

“It's better than other prisons, I think,” said another user.
“Lol, far better than other jails… wonder what Diddy has been eating since his arrest…”, jokingly asked another user.
“LOL! It's better than what I would've expected…”, another user said.

Meanwhile, many users argued that the food is actually not that good. One X user claimed that the inmates didn’t seem to like the food either, while another one said that prison foods are never good.

“Wild moments on @NewsNation tonight as @TVAshleigh is interviewing inmates currently inside the prison Luigi Mangione is staying in… Just in: the foods “terrible”,” said another user.
“Yes, I saw that inmate's interview with Alex Caprariello. Surprised, they appear to want Mangione out of there. And they didn't seem to like the food either,” another X user claimed.
“Lol. The food is never good in a prison,” alleged another one.

A spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections told TMZ that Luigi Mangione is housed in SCI Huntingdon, located just outside of Altoona, in a single cell without a roommate. As per TMZ’s report from the same day, Mangione is currently living alone in the prison.

He is allegedly not currently interacting with other prisoners, despite not being in solitary confinement. However, the same outlet reported that he would be permitted to leave his cell, a privilege granted to all prisoners, regardless of their level of incarceration.

Nevertheless, recently, curiosity has now been raised about Mangione's viral prison meals. As per the same outlet, the prison authorities revealed that Luigi Mangione had coffee, toast, scrambled eggs, fruit, and grits for breakfast. He then eats mashed potatoes, bread, and tinned fruit with porcupine meatballs for lunch. Additionally, he has stewed tomatoes, spaghetti bean casserole, and mac and cheese for supper.

Meanwhile, Mangione was caught after a McDonald’s customer allegedly spotted him at the company’s Altoona, Pennsylvania outlet and informed an employee. The employee then called the authorities.

Following this, Luigi Mangione was accused of several offenses in Pennsylvania, including forgery, illegal gun possession, tampering with identification or documents, possession of criminal tools, and providing false identification to law authorities.

In addition, he was also charged with murder, possession of a forged instrument, and criminal possession of a firearm silencer in New York. It is thought that Mangione's complaints against UnitedHealthcare and other health insurance providers led him to commit the crime.

Mangione appeared in court on December 10, the day he was arrested, accompanied by a lawyer who vowed to fight the effort to return him to New York. On the other hand, as per Reuters’ December 12 report, after his arrest, thousands of dollars were donated for his legal defense through an internet fundraising campaign, which also garnered encouraging comments.

Nevertheless, following his arrest, his family members haven’t said anything as of yet.
