The National Homecoming Festival 2023: Lineup, tickets, dates, and all you need to know

The National is set to bring back its Homecoming Festival for another year, with the second edition of the event scheduled to take place from September 16, 2023, to September 17, 2023, at the Icon Festival Stage at Smale Park. The announcement marks the end of the festival's hiatus since its first edition in 2018.

The band took to Instagram to announce the exciting news, leaving fans over the moon. They also shared that the upcoming festival would feature performances by Arooj Aftab, Bartees Strange, the Walkmen, and Weyes Blood among others.

Cherry Tree presale for the Homecoming Festival begins on May 18, 2023, at 9 am ET and can be accessed by registering on the band's official fan base, Cherry Tree's site (https://shop.americanmary.com/pages/cherry-tree-store). On-sale tickets for the tour will be available from May 19, 2023.

General tickets for the festival are priced at $225 and VIP tickets will be available for $500. It is important to note that individuals will also have to pay an additional processing fee at the time of booking. Tickets can be availed from https://www.americanmary.com/homecoming.


Patti Smith and Weyes Blood to join The National at Homecoming Festival

Speaking about the festival in a press release, the band acknowledged the sense of community they felt at the first edition of the festival, stating:

"When we launched Homecoming in 2018, we were overwhelmed by the response from the community and by our renewed sense of connection to our hometown."

The band continued:

"It was such an exciting, memorable weekend and we’ve long hoped to bring it back. We’re honored to return to Cincinnati five years later and be joined by so many of our favorite musicians and friends."

Joining The National at the Homecoming Festival will be the veteran singer-songwriter of the punk-rock movement, Patti Smith. Often called the punk poet laureate, the singer is best known for her fourth studio album, Wave, which was released on May 17, 1979. The album peaked at number 18 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

Also present will be singer-songwriter Weyes Blood, who is best known for her fifth studio album, And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow, which was released on November 18, 2022. The album peaked at number 14 on the Scotland album chart.

The second edition of the festival was initially scheduled to be held in May 2020 but the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic led to its cancellation for the next two years. Fans are now excited to see The National and the other renowned artists take the stage at the upcoming festival.
