At the conclusion of the most recent episode of The Simpsons' landmark 35th season, the show presented a special homage to the late Suzanne Somers. Following years of struggle with cancer, Suzanne Somers, star of television shows like Three's Company, passed away on October 15, 2023.

Supporters as well as entertainment insiders have been recalling their fondest recollections of the actress, who was 76. Her biggest highlight for Simpsons viewers was a lighthearted guest-speaking gig when she and David Brinkley, a well-known but sometimes somber newscaster, offered some amusing commentary on the show’s celebrity guest segment.


The Simpsons remembers Suzanne Somers

Somers disclosed to the public in 2001 that she was receiving treatment for breast cancer. Throughout her life, she also received diagnoses for a number of different cancers.

On October 15, 2023, Suzanne Somers passed away at the age of 76. Her family disclosed that breast cancer was the primary cause of her death. The actor passed away only one day short of her 77th Birthday.

In addition to her work on the sitcoms "Three's Company" and "Step by Step," Somers was most recognized for her entrepreneurial endeavors in the health and fitness industry, which included endorsing the Thighmaster.

There was a memorable "In Loving Memory" tribute card honoring Suzanne Somers, spotlighting her guest appearance, at the end of The Simpsons season 35 episode 3, McMansion & Wife.

In this episode, fans learn more about Chester J. Lampwick, the true Itchy & Scratchy creator, who also almost put a stop to the show.

For an Itchy & Scratchy parade, Somers offered some amusing comments. The Simpsons frequently utilized the brief guest slot for comical celebrity voiceovers, but it was obvious that Suzanne was thrilled at the prospect of appearing on the program.

After all these years, the program is now thanking the late actress at the end of The Simpsons season 35 episode 3 credits.
