A statue of Donald Trump spotted at the 13460 Apex Harbor Ln in Las Vegas has recently grabbed attention on social media. The statue, known as Crooked and Obscene, is around 43 feet tall, weighs almost 6,000 pounds, and is made of foam over rebar.
The statue specifically created headlines since Trump was portrayed naked and it has been reportedly made as part of the Crooked and Obscene Tour.
The organizers of the tour allegedly claimed that they intentionally kept Trump naked, aiming to offer a "bold statement on transparency, vulnerability, and the public personas" of political personalities. The statue is supposed to be shown at different spots around the US while the tour continues.
On the other hand, a few photos of Donald Trump's naked statue were obtained by The Shade Room and shared through their official Instagram page. The portrayal of Trump in the statue received a mixed response from netizens as they took to the comments section of the social media post to share their reactions. One of them also wrote:
"They got that thing set up like the Wicker Man like they going to do a Burning Man festival with it"
Similar responses continued with some people making fun of the statue. Users even suggested other things that the organizers could have done instead of making a naked statue. A person additionally stated that Kamala Harris was "cackling and slapping her knee" after looking at the statue.
A section of the public addressed the possible consequences, claiming that Donald Trump might "cuss everyone out" and could take some severe measures to take down the statue.
Donald Trump was portrayed as a tough fighter in another sculpture last month
A sculpture of Donald Trump was made by Bill Secunda in August 2024 from twisted and bent metal nails. It featured the former President of the United States wearing a navy suit and raising his fist in the air. The statue was revealed at the Butler Farm Show.
Notably, Trump's pose in the statue referred to the moment when American resident Thomas Matthew Crooks tried to assassinate him while he was participating in a rally in July this year. Trump was hit in the ear and while he was being escorted to safety by the Secret Service agents, he raised his hand in the air.
Speaking to Fox News, Secunda said that Donald Trump's statue is expected to give more strength to people, describing him as a "strong individual." He further stated:
"You know, maybe we need to be a little stronger. This is kind of a tough time for our country and I kind of hope it helps. People were upset that it happened here, and I think they're more upset that it happened at all."
Secunda addressed his experience of working on the sculpture, saying that he enjoyed creating the hair and added:
"I did a lot of research on his ears and a lot of research on his hair. Once I got it formed right, I used a brazing rod and welded it on there to give it the yellow [finish]."
Meanwhile, Trump is contesting in the upcoming 2024 US elections, and as per a CNN poll, he has 47% support compared to Kamala Harris with 48%.
