Actor and filmmaker Bryan Cranston endorsed Kamala Harris for the upcoming presidential election at an October 12 Democratic campaign rally in Phoenix, Arizona, titled “Fighting for Reproductive Freedom.” The Breaking Bad actor stood at the podium and shared his pro-abortion and reproductive rights views.

“I am not a politician. I am not a doctor or a lawyer, but I played all of those on TV. But I am a father of a daughter and it’s important to me for her life now, for the future other father’s daughters to be able to have within their lifetime the fundamental right, freedom of choice,” he stated.

Bryan Cranston continued:

“There should not be anyone but them deciding what happens to their own bodies. And that’s why I am enthusiastically supporting Vice President Harris and Governor Walz.”

The video of his speech at the weekend campaign rally has garnered severe traction online. It has earned diverse reactions from social media users:

“Noooooo, not Bryan Cranston too!!! They got Walterrrr!!!”

Several others joined the conversation on the platform and shared similar opinions slamming the Oscar nominee for his Harris-Walz endorsement.

“He fell off after ‘Breaking Bad,’” a netizen wrote.
“You’re truly blessed if the only issue you worry about in this election is reproductive rights. You must be rich rich to be able to not care about anything else,” another netizen wrote.
“Never liked him. Now I see why,” one netizen wrote.

Meanwhile, others lauded Bryan for supporting Harris-Walz for the November election.

“‘Breaking Bad’ votes for who I vote for,” a fan wrote.
“Good on him! My respect level just went up for him in addition to him already being a great actor,” one fan wrote.
“A father knows it well,” wrote another.

Some pointed out that Bryan Cranston’s political views were personal and had nothing to do with his professional life.

“Uh oh, here comes the weirdos that are gonna hate him now and say ‘Breaking Bad’ was never that good and blah blah, lol. He’s still a good dude and a phenomenal actor regardless of his political views,” a person wrote.

Bryan Cranston spoke at the Phoenix campaign rally on Saturday alongside current First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, Congressman Ruben Gallego, Senator Mark Kelly, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, reproductive rights advocate Kate Cox, and actress Sophia Bush among others.

The “Fighting for Reproductive Freedom” rally was part of a bus tour that stopped in Arizona over the weekend as early voting began in the state. This week, it is scheduled to make stops at Sedona and Flagstaff.

Bryan Cranston previously endorsed Kamala Harris in September

Last month, Oprah Winfrey hosted a town hall campaign event in Michigan in support of Kamala Harris (who was present live on stage) which was virtually attended by Bryan Cranston via Zoom. He began by saying how he was "smiling from ear to ear" and "never felt this much joy and optimism in a campaign in a long time."

The multiple-time Primetime Emmy winner went on to add:

“I’m so appreciative of Kamala for bringing back that sense of optimism and squashing the cynicism and vitriol in Washington. I hope we ride this wave into Washington. I’m here to support, and I couldn’t be happier with this candidate. I think she’s going to be a terrific president.”

Several other celebrities joined the event including Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Jennifer Lopez, Tracy Ellis Ross, Julia Roberts, and Meryl Streep. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer also attended.
