Tre Cool, the drummer of the popular band Green Day, has responded to Charli XCX's "Miss Should Be Headliner" sash by creating his own sash. The drummer jokingly tweeted a picture of himself wearing a sash that reads, "Actual Headliner" on April 20.
According to NME's report dated April 14, the singer's Coachella set on April 12 was before Green Day's headline set. She then posted pictures of the Coachella afterparty wearing the sash.
Tre Cool's tweet has now gone viral, garnering more than 200K likes. Charli XCX has also responded, tweeting:
"obsessed."
One netizen stated that Tre Cool's sash is on brand with Charli XCX's brat summer concept and that her fans should appreciate the drummer's sense of humor.
"This was actually very brat of him. charli and her stans should be cheering," they wrote.
Some netizens jokingly compared the singer to Green Day. One user (@2koolqweenie) said the crowd for the band at the Coachella was "insane" and energetic.
"The Green Day crowd was insane. They give the energy that people were pretending other artists' crowds did," a netizen wrote.
"I'm glad you approve charlie," one person said.
"Tré Cool serving "headliner realness" with that sash—Green Day said, 'We’ve been punking since '94, step aside, brat!'" another person commented.
"Why do people think Charlie is more famous than Green Day?!?!? wtf," another X user wrote.
Netizens continued to comment on the impact that Green Day had on the music industry. One user (@royal_bobby24) jokingly said that Tre Cool "out-pettied" Charli XCX.
"Imagine thinking a pop star who got big off one album thinks they should headline over one of the biggest bands of all time that’s BEEN big for decades. Lmao," a netizen wrote on X.
"I like Charlie's music but even Tré alone (a rock and roll hall of fame drummer ) had better contribution to the music industry over that girl," another X user wrote.
"I love when the legends out petty the new kids lol," another netizen wrote.
Charli XCX seemingly hinted at her upcoming album during the Coachella performance

According to The News' April 21 report, Charli XCX seemingly hinted at her next album during her Coachella performance during the second weekend. The singer was dancing on stage while a screen behind her stated that it's time for the singer to move on to her next musical era.
"Does this mean that brat summer is finally over????? IDK? maybe? maybe it's time for a different kind of brat summer? maybe it's time for me to let go? maybe it's time to make way for…" the screen behind her reads.
Finn Keane, the co-writer and co-producer of Brat, sat down for an interview with Grammy on February 5. He stated that for the singer's next album, they were considering doing something completely different from Brat.
"Chatting to Charli now, there is a desire in her to do the complete opposite thing again, which is very in keeping with her ethos. Some of the conversations we're having and music we've been playing around with the last couple of months have been completely the opposite," he said.
Keane stated that with the upcoming album, Charli XCX will show off a new side of her artistry.
"I love that spirit. It's the iconoclastic impulse to rebuild something completely different, to show that you actually could do this other thing, this whole other side of your artistry," he said.
It is uncertain when her next album will be released. According to Variety's January 23 report, Charli XCX will star in the movie "The Moment," which is based on her original idea.
