Bodycam footage of internet personality Chris Chan being arrested in 2021 has recently surfaced online.

The creator of the Sonichu comic was charged with inc*st after she was exposed for having sexual relations with her 79-year-old mother. Internet users have since taken to the internet to react to the viral video of the arrest.

YouTube channel EWU was the first to take to social media to share a video of Chris Chan’s arrest. In the same, several police officers were seen arresting the comic book creator at her Regency Inn accommodation in Richmond, Virginia.

Chris Chan, whose full name is Christine Chandler, was seen complying with the police officers and revealed that she was aware of her being investigated and a warrant being issued for her.

At one point, the police officers asked Chan if she would remove her necklaces as she would not be allowed to wear them in jail, to which Chan revealed that she wished to wear her Sonichu-shaped “medallion.” In the video, Chan was also heard telling the police officers:

“By the way if any of y’all have been feeling a punch like sensation on your leg, that is my husband Magi-Chan Sonichu right on the opposite side of the universe veil. He’s punching you all each, just a gentle punch to let you know he is here.”

It is worth noting that Chan does not have a husband in reality and was referring to a fictional character.

The video of Chandler’s arrest spread across social media platforms, subsequently leading to netizens sharing their hilarious reactions online, a few of which read:

Chris Chan was arrested after a nine-minute Discord recording of her explaining to her friend that she was intimate with her mother, who suffers from dementia, was leaked online. Reacting to the video of his arrest, other netizens said:

“Cop: um… you know you have the right to… remain silent right,” an X user said.

“That cop made such a huge mistake letting chris sit in the front seat,” another netizen stated.

“Feels like im watching a supermega skit,” a platform user commented.

Chris Chan was released from jail in March 2023 and had the charges dropped against her in August. Meanwhile, other reactions read:

At one point in the 18-minute-long video that was made available online, Chan was heard claiming that she was part of a “celebrity scandal” and that people were simply “blowing it out of the water.” She also said:

“Essentially, I am a decent and good individual. I believe in everything that is right and positive and I am literally a goddess and that will be proven in the near days to come.”

During her arrest, Chan stated that “everything is going to work out.”

While an officer was taking her to the detention center in a police vehicle, Chan extensively explained the Sonichu world and finally stated:

“I am married interdimensionally with my husband Magi-Chan Sonichu and I am also married to, ah now my brain went blank on the word there.”

Chris Chan’s inc*st charges were dismissed after her attorneys filed a motion for an autism disorder-deferred disposition. In Virginia, this allows the court to consider alternative sentences for offenders who have intellectual disabilities.
