Donald Trump talks about 'the golden age of America' in victory speech before official confirmation of his win
On Wednesday, November 6, Donald Trump addressed his supporters at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he was accompanied by his family and the Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance.
The 47th president of the United States pledged to make his presidential tenure the 'golden age of America.' Furthermore, he mentioned utilizing the country's crude oil resources to catapult the American economy and pay off the national debt.
"This will truly be the golden age of America. It will make America great again. There was no other path to victory. We will make you proud of your vote," Trump said.
Trump also expressed his gratitude to multi-billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk. Referring to him as a 'genius,' he acknowledged his efforts and pledged to protect 'geniuses' like him during his tenure.
"We will turn things around fast. This will be remembered as the day the Americans regained control of their country. I will fight for you with every breath in my body, will not rest until we have delivered a strong, safe and prosperous America. God spared my life for a reason," he added.
Finally, JD Vance spoke to the supporters and alluded to making the 'greatest economic comeback.' He talked about the country's immigration policy, a much-debated topic that has been one of the highlights of the Trump/Vance presidential campaign.
"We just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of this country, and under President Trump’s leadership, we’re never going to stop fighting for you, for your dreams, for the future of your children. We’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history," JD Vance said.
According to Mint, the newly-elected president took control of three crucial swing states - Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. These wins greatly helped him reach the victorious figure of 270 electoral votes. As of writing this article, Kamala Harris has 223 electoral votes while Donald Trump has 279 (via BBC).
