On December 15, 2024, The Jennifer Hudson Show's Instagram shared a clip of Michelle Obama dancing down the aisle as the crew sang:

“Michelle Obama’s walking, we can’t let her go/ She’s a classy lady, we just love her so. We got Michelle Obama at the happy place!”

The clip, cross-posted on X by user @dom_lucre, divided the internet. Many deemed the video to be cringy, with one person tweeting:

Many netizens seemed to agree with this sentiment.

Michelle Obama and family celebrate Christmas in Hawaii

Michelle Obama joined The Jennifer Hudson Show to talk about her holiday plans and shopping for her husband. The interview, uploaded to the show's YouTube channel on December 17, saw the former first lady say that the Obama family usually spent Thanksgiving with her family "on the mainland" before heading to Hawaii for Christmas.

According to Rolling Stone, she added that her husband, Barack Obama, was incredibly difficult to shop for since he "doesn't do much."

“He’s just a boy. He just doesn’t do much. He golfs and there’s only so many golf balls you can get a dude. He’s already got the clubs. I can’t get him another golf shirt. He’s really hard and he doesn’t want anything. He’s one of these sort of ‘Just a nice letter.’ And he means it. So he’s really hard to shop for.”

Michelle Obama also spoke a little about her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, adding they were grown women who have now moved out of the family home and lived together on their own. The former first lady also promoted her latest book, Overcoming: A Workbook, released on December 3.

The interactive book is based on her best-selling novel The Light We Carry, published in 2022. According to Oprah Daily, the workbook is filled with journal prompts and creative activities that help you get through challenging periods.

Michelle Obama said her aim with the workbook was to make the contents of The Light We Carry more accessible to people.

“I’ve always found that it can be useful to break down a gigantic goal or an intimidating challenge into its component parts. This way, you are less likely to get overwhelmed or exhausted, or crash into feelings of futility. Learning to take smaller steps helps us understand what’s actually within our control so that we can prioritize our efforts, sustain our energy, and create new possibilities for ourselves and for those around us,” she said in a statement via Penguin Random House.

The Light We Carry is not the only book Michelle Obama has written. In 2012, she published American Grown and in 2018, she published her bestselling memoir Becoming.
