Walker Edison Furniture LLC, of Salt Lake City, Utah, has issued a nationwide recall of over 120,000 twin bunk beds over fall and impact hazards. It is feared that over time, the wooden slats supporting the bunk beds can break while being used, posing serious fall and impact hazards.
Announced on May 4, 2023, the nationwide recall was initiated after the establishment received reports from several customers about the bunk bed slats breaking. Considering the risks involved, the company has issued a nationwide voluntary recall to ensure the safety of the customers.
As per the recall notice published on the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) website, the company has received reports of over 14 incidents where the bunk bed slats broke. The company has also received a report of minor injuries in a similar incident where the slats on the bunk bed broke.

The company has already received reports of over 14 incidents where the bunk bed slats broke down, along with one report of minor injuries caused because of the incident. Sold in various finishes across the country, the wooden bunk beds could have been purchased between February 2010 and February 2022.
The Made-in-Brazil bunk beds were sold at major retailers and online at Walmart.com, HomeDepot.com, Amazon.com, Overstock.com, and Wayfair.com. Consumers may have bought the recalled bunk beds for between $206 and $389.

The furniture company is urging all customers not to use the affected bunk beds until the problem is fixed. The repair kit comes with 12 wooden slats and new instructions to fix the problem.
