Watch: Bodycam footage shows armed officers storming into Ruby Franke's home in search of her children 

Former YouTuber Ruby Franke has made headlines since she was arrested on August 30, 2023, on charges related to child abuse. Recently, police released bodycam footage that captured them looking for the other kids at her house. Franke's children were later found at one of her friends' house. The discovery was made hours after one of her children escaped from the house of her business partner and went to the neighbors for help.

Ruby Franke and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, have now been charged with six counts of felony child abuse. Authorities found Franke's son in Ivins, while two of her other children were found at Pam Bodtcher's house.

Bodycam footage obtained captured officers barging into Ruby Franke's residence

ABC 7 Chicago obtained bodycam footage that captured law enforcement officials searching the former YouTuber's house to find her other two children, after one was found in Ivins. The 12-year-old had escaped from the house of Franke's business partner.

Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department issued a statement confirming that Franke's 12-year-old son was found at a neighbor's place asking for food and water. He was reportedly emaciated and had "open wounds and duct tape around the extremities."

The 12-year-old had allegedly climbed out of a window of Jodi Hildebrandt's house. Law enforcement also found Ruby Franke's 10-year-old daughter in the residence, who appeared malnourished as well. Eventually, the Utah Division of Child and Family Services took the children in.

On August 30, both Ruby and Jodi were arrested from Utah and charged. On September 8, a virtual hearing took place for both the suspects.

Following the arrest, YouTube has reportedly banned Franke from using the platform and has deleted her channel too. She first created the channel in 2015 to document her regular life along with her six kids and husband, Kevin.

Past accusations against Ruby Franke

The chain of events began in 2020, after one of Franke's sons said that he was made to sleep on a bean bag and banned from using the bedroom. This left viewers concerned about the former YouTuber's kids.

Viewers also got concerned about her disciplinary methods after she reportedly withheld food as a form of punishment. A change.org petition that was launched regarding the same claimed that there have been instances of child abuse in the house. Kevin, however, defended his wife and said that viewers have misunderstood.

Kevin and Ruby eventually separated in 2022.

As per ABC7, in September 2022, Shari Franke, Ruby's eldest child reportedly called 911 to say that her "four younger siblings are living in Springville, and my neighbors have been telling me they have been let home alone for about four or five days."

In 2021, Franke began working at ConneXions as a mental health coach. This company was run by a counselor named Jodi Nan Hildebrandt.

Kevin Franke is also currently locked in a custody battle with Ruby for his four minor children.
