In a shocking turn of events, reports have surfaced that the individual responsible for the recent Cybertruck bombing outside the Donald Trump International Hotel may have utilized ChatGPT, an advanced AI language model, to orchestrate the attack.

On January 8, 2025, reports surfaced online with numerous users on X alleging that ChatGPT was involved in the bombing attack that occurred on January 1, 2025.

This revelation has sparked a firestorm of reactions across social media platform X, with many users expressing deep concern about the potential misuse of artificial intelligence technology.

"We’re doomed," one commented.

Many users on X speculated that this Cybertruck bombing incident might just be the beginning of a troubling trend involving AI misuse, suggesting that the dangers of AI could be measured by this event.

"this is just the beginning of what Ai is doing like the future is not looking good 😭," a user on X commented.
"y’all can’t even do terrorist attacks without ai anymore. it’s really sad to see. bring back reading comprehension," one more commented.
"y’all really be using chat gpt for EVERYTHING omg 😭," a third commented.

Moreover, some users on X joked about the situation, suggesting that ChatGPT was not involved, while others expressed frustration over the idea that the AI tool could have played a role in such incidents. There was also a broader discussion on how similar information could easily be accessed without using AI.

"they didnt do it," a netizen commented.
"Why did ChatGPT assist him with something like this?!" a netizen wrote on X.
"Asking about Tannerite or muzzle velocity isn’t some secret ChatGPT-only insight. It’s all over the internet. Nothing here suggests ChatGPT provided anything unique or crucial to what he did," another user commented.

As of now, neither Donald Trump nor Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has commented on the news or responded to the reactions online.

Allegations surface of ChatGPT's role in Cybertruck bomber's attack

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, reports from NBC News indicated that the Cybertruck explosion outside Donald Trump's international hotel in Las Vegas was orchestrated with the aid of artificial intelligence. The attack was reportedly guided using AI technology to execute the explosion.

Matthew Alan Livelsberger, a US Army Green Beret, has been identified as the suspect in the attack. Authorities revealed on January 7, 2025, that he allegedly used ChatGPT to research assembling explosives and calculating the velocity needed to detonate them.

Clark County/Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill commented on the incident, acknowledging the transformative impact of AI and noting that this case marked the first known instance of artificial intelligence being used in such a manner on U.S. soil.

"We know AI was going to change the game for all of us at some point or another, in really all of our lives. I think this is the first incident that I’m aware of on U.S. soil where ChatGPT is utilized to help an individual build a particular device," McMahill said.

According to AP News, the alleged bomber shot himself inside the Cybertruck moments before the explosion and left a note claiming that the New Year's Day event was not a terrorist attack but a "wake-up call."

Livelsberger suggested that Americans only respond to violence and spectacles, hence his choice of a dramatic method to convey his message.

"This was not a terrorist attack, it was a wake up call. Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives," Livelsberger wrote.

The Cybertruck explosion resulted in minor injuries to seven individuals but caused no damage to the Trump International Hotel. In the aftermath, Tesla's Cybertruck team extracted data from the vehicle, revealing Livelsberger's route from Colorado through New Mexico and Arizona to Las Vegas, tracked via charging stations.
