On May 28, 2024, a tattoo artist named Sopas shared a video on Instagram where he claimed that he would tattoo KSI all over his body till the social media influencer and boxer call him. Since then he had been sharing clips of him getting inked with KSI's name all over his body. The first tattoo that he got was dated June 1, 2024.

Sopas had already gotten more than 160 tattoos since then. Meanwhile, the news gained more traction after Dexerto posted about it in an article on November 20, 2024.

This gesture garnered massive attention from netizens who flooded the social media platforms. Here are some popular responses found on X. An user criticized Sopas for his extreme act and wrote:

"Hope never calls, what is this blackmail lol."

Another user wrote on X:

"This why i don’t wanna have kids bc if my son doing something like this it’s over💀."
"Simp of the year," wrote another person.
"Some times a tattooist has to just say no," commented another netizen.

Many netizens believed that the Sopas, the tattoo artist was "insane" and that he wasn't in his right mind. Some also described the gesture to be "scary." An X user wrote:

"This kind of parasocial relationship is terrifying 😳😳😳."
"pure insane man 😭," tweeted a netizen.
"What could be so urgent that he would go through all of this just to speak to KSI💀," mentioned another one.

KSI had messaged Sopas and requested him to stop what he decided to do

Amid the chaos, while professional boxer and influencer KSI didn't call Sopas, he had messaged the tattoo artist and urged him to stop tattooing this way. In September, KSI sent a series of DMs, through X, formerly known as Twitter, to Sopas. KSI wrote:

"Bro, please stop. I’ve messaged you, you can stop now."

The tattoo artist and aspiring influencer, however, didn't seem satisfied with the response from KSI. In a video shared on YouTube, he said:

"It should be a good thing, right? No, guys. …he hasn't called me yet. I don’t know what to do."

Dexerto reached out to the tattoo artist to get insights into his actions and why he decided to go ahead with it. To this, the tattoo artist stated that he didn't want to reveal the information since it was personal.

Sopas further claimed that if KSI knew about the exact reason due to which the tattoo artist wanted a conversation on call, the boxer would have called by now. The tattoo artist then said:

"What I can say is that it would mean the world to get this phone call with KSI, I’ve tried everything to get a phone call with him including 190 permanent tattoos and a tattoo of his name on my forehead, that might sound crazy but it’s worth it because my reason makes it worth it."

This wasn't the first time that fans ended up tattooing the names of the celebrities they idolized. Back in 2023, a TikToker went viral when he decided to tattoo Mr. Beast's name on himself until Beast responded to him.
