Charges against Diana Pirvu explored in the wake of the arrest

Detailing the incident authorities said that on October 11, 2023, the victim’s brother contacted police. The teen had reportedly told his brother that he had been having a s*xual relationship with Diana Pirvu, a 23-year-old teacher from his school. Authorities said that the adult brother reached out to the police after reviewing a string of inappropriate text messages exchanged between the student and teacher.

According to court documents cited in Channel 12News, a text message revealed that in one instance, Pirvu allegedly went to the 13-year-old's home. The teacher allegedly went to the house to pick him up “but was intercepted by the brother and left without the victim.”

Shortly after, the 13-year-old, who was interviewed by authorities, revealed at least five incidents where Pirvu engaged in s*xual acts with the victim in the car and at her home. After discovering the extent of the crime, police detained the suspect at a traffic stop before booking her into jail.

Diana Pirvu has been married for three years

During a court appearance on Thursday, Diana Pirvu’s attorney revealed that she has been married to a woman for three years and the couple reportedly owned a home.

In a letter to parents obtained by 12News, Imagine School Principal Shane Boettcher said Pirvu had been placed on administrative leave. The Principal also urged anyone with information regarding the matter to contact law enforcement.

Boettcher declined to confirm if the victim was a student at the school stating:

"It is unclear whether the child is a student at our school, as we have not yet been contacted by the police regarding the matter.”

However, Channel 12 News, citing police officials, reported that the department unsuccessfully tried to contact the school multiple times but did not receive a response.

Meanwhile, in a press release on Facebook, the Buckeye police department confirmed Diana Pirvu’s arrest. They wrote:

“Buckeye police arrested a local teaching assistant last night accused of s*xually abusing a 13-year-old male student. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Diana Pirvu, was booked into jail on child molestation charges.”

They added:

“Buckeye police are committed to holding offenders accountable, especially those responsible for the care of our most vulnerable community members.”

Meanwhile, the judge set a $150,000 bond, noting after securing the release, she would be subjected to home detention and electronic monitoring.
