Roblox’s Dress To Impress owner, Gigi, is facing numerous allegations from It Girl game creator, Sara. The latter took to X to share a thread and document where she alleged that the former attempted to frame her as a r*pist and fat-shamed her, among many other accusations. Since then, Gigi has taken to social media to apologize for certain statements.
Trigger Warning: The following article discusses r*pe, fatphobia, and suicide. Reader’s discretion is advised.
On October 1, Sara took to her @MrsSpongeys account on X to claim that 17-year-old Gigi created a group chat to speak ill about It Girl and her.
“They weren’t just petty little comments- there were some really vile things said, which is why I won’t let this go,” Sara said.
Sara claimed that Dress To Impress' Gigi stated in her group chat that if her game gained popularity, she would “frame me for being a r*pist. When she said this in the group chat, her ex-developers had a negative reaction to this “joke,” so she deleted the message.” Sara went on to add screenshots as evidence for the same.
Sara also claimed that Gigi was planning to issue a DMCA strike against her game for being a “copy” of Dress To Impress. Sara clarified that she was inspired by Nova City, Suga Girlz, and Royale High. While sharing proof of the same, one of Gigi’s developers said:
“Gigi first started by joking around it then started to actually insult the game and planned to DMCA the game but she wasn’t able to because it’s only just similar to the game.”
It Girl’s Sara accuses Dress To Impress’ Gigi of fat-shaming her
In the X thread that has amassed over four million views, Sara alleged that Dress To Impress' Gigi joked about her “breaking the floor” and also shared pictures of her on a chat. As the slew of allegations continued, Sara claimed that Gigi did nothing to stop trolls from “hating” on the It Girl game.
Sara claimed that Dress To Impress' Gigi attempted to apologize for her actions by reaching out to her after the latter learned that a document that would expose her would be released soon. In the screenshot of the apology, Gigi told Sara:
“I’d like to deeply and sincerely apologize for all my comments about your game, and also my comments about you. I’m very, very, very sorry, and I shouldn't have said those things. Trust me, it was in the heat of the moment, and I would have never said it otherwise.”
As Sara’s allegations surfaced online, other Roblox game creators and developers took to the internet to share their accusations against Dress To Impress’ Gigi.
Other Roblox members come forward with a slew of allegations
Roblox game creator Jenn, who goes by the username @JennDemie on X, took to the social networking site to share her experience of working with Gigi for Jenn’s Mansion. Jenn alleged that Gigi was pretending to be 19 years old and asked an 18-year-old for explicit images of themselves in exchange for unseen updates on the Jenn’s Mansion game. Gigi was reportedly just 14 or 15 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
Jenn also shared multiple screenshots of Dress To Impress' Gigi seemingly being rude to her. One message that was allegedly sent from her read:
“GET ME BACK U DUMB C*NT H*E SON OF A FSGGOT”
X user @Peacherin0 also took to the social networking site to share a thread that accused Gigi of being racist and made claims about her allegedly sharing explicit images with minors. While sharing screenshots as evidence of Gigi taking part in 18+ servers when she was just a minor, the X user wrote in the tweet:
“Gigi has literally made and involved themselves in 18+ servers as a minor, continuously making 18+ jokes, bought and solicited photos with other minors. Harassing other minors for 18+ photos. This was acknowledged earlier this year by Gigi but was swiftly deleted”
@Peacherin0 also accused Gigi of being racist by allegedly commenting “disgusting” under a photo of a Black man and also because Gigi said, “I sent gay p*rn to a muslim guy and he is MAD.”
Ex-employee of Dress To Impress, X user @Chowiru, also shared a now-deleted thread accusing Gigi of making fun of her mental health battles and suicide attempts. In an alleged message to @Chowiru, Gigi said:
“What you’re saying isn’t adding up tho and asking to get paid first day back?? And starting school too? This doesn’t sound very real I’m very sorry. You’ve disappeared before and reappeared idk. If it is real tho I’m very sorry you should take a break and go to a therapist and focus on your mental health instead of being here.”
X user @Peacherin0 also claimed that Dress To Impress’ Gigi called Chowiru “fat and white” despite them being Black.
Dress To Impress’ Gigi takes to social media to apologize for her statements
Gigi took to her X account, @gigi_DTI, to share a Google document that consisted of her apology. In it, she revealed that most of the incidents where she commented inappropriately occurred when she was 14 years old, however, that was no "excuse." She also said:
“I just want to genuinely apologize for any hurt I have caused and for the things I’ve said that have offended anyone. I never meant to offend or upset anyone, but I get that my words and actions have impacted people, and I’m really sorry for that. I’m learning, and I know I need to be more aware, especially with a big platform. I own that. I’m committed to being better moving forward.”
Gigi went on to admit to making the r*pe comments against Sara and apologized for the same. However, she denied fat-shaming her and discussing her appearance.
She went on to express regret about being on adult servers when she was just 14 years old.
Dress To Impress' Gigi then denied being racist and exchanging inappropriate photos with netizens at any point. She also apologized to Chowiru for not taking her mental health concerns seriously. She ended her statement by saying:
“This whole situation has really been weighing on me. I’ve had to let go of people I cared about, and it’s been a lot to handle. I need to take a step back and process everything, reflect on my actions, and focus on how I can be better. This has been tough, but I’m taking responsibility and using this as a chance to grow. I’ll be taking some time to focus on myself and my mental health and figure things out.”
The story is still developing at the time of this writing.
